Any appliance with a plug socket can be powered remotely up to a distance of 30 metres. It uses Radio Frequency so the remote does not need to be pointed at the socket and can work through walls. Each RF socket has 4 channels than can be set from the switch at the back. For example, if you had 4 lamps plugged into the RF sockets on different channels/codes you could turn them on and off individually or if set on the same channel/code you could turn them all on and off at the same time.To operate, set the dial on the reverse of the product to the channel required and fit the small battery to the transmitter. Plug the socket in to the required wall outlet and it's ready to use.

Additional sockets are available, Order Code N77KA, sold separately

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works. I can now switch a pair of lamps at opposite end of the room, on and off without having to move from my chair. The third socket lets me switch power to the Raspberry Pi setup (including monitor and powered hub) with one press of a button. The instructions are written in decent English and perfectly clear. I needed a magnifier to to adjust the control switches on the bacl of the remote and the sockets, but then I am 72 years old, and my eyesight's not what it used to be. I've still got two spare channels on the remote, so if I think of something else to use it for I can get some more sockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Having tried other devices of this kind I wasn't expecting much from this product considering the price, and I only wanted a temporary fix so I could wire up my workshop lights when the weather warmed up. But how wrong I was. This little setup is truly amazing. I just have the little remote in my pocket and can control my lights just as I want them. Its going to save me a fortune in rewiring costs. I was surprised at how well the remote works through walls. I've only given it a 4 star rating because I'm unsure how sturdy the remote is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could have been put off by the first dismissive review but purchased this pack nevertheless. Excellent results, especially helpful for those with limited mobility enabling power outlets to be armchair-controlled

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 16 plugs in use! I use these on most lights and AV equipment in my home, so use all 16 (I.e 4 x 4) settings possible. For over 2 years now everything has operated perfectly unlike some other brands of remote. The only issue is marking the remotes so I know which button controls which device! I have grouped items according to place and type, and used dymo labels to help id buttons. I also have slips of paper with the full list strategically located! Took a bit of trial and error but now it's rare I hit the wrong button. Excellent cheap home automation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've had a number of these for some time to control multiple lamps in one room rather than switching each one on or off individually. This benefit has also now been employed for controlling Christmas lights that are plugged in at various locations around the house and with two items plugged in to garage sockets. Switching all of the Christmas lights on in one go whilst standing outside of the house is arguably puerile but also strangely satisfying.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Build quality of the remote control shockingly poor, the off buttons stopped working after one day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Old Chemist When they work they work very well. Have had two go wrong in 6 months. In my case one began to work only intermittently; the other would allow switching on but not off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work perfectly. Normally items that profess to work at 30m range don't, but these do what they say. Can turn off the Christmas lights from the living room - brill. Added bonus of being able to turn TVs completely off without having to move the furniture. You can run 16 sockets off one remote, as there are 4 channels x 4 buttons. Buying and distributing to the family - now up to 5th pack!

I have a circular saw and a Vacuum. Can this be used to switch them on together? i.e., start saw and the vac comes on ar the same time?

Asked by: HVGn
If the items automatically switch on when receiving power then this would work fine.

Why do you have to press 2 buttons to turn light on and off

Asked by: Sals
The unit operates on a definitive on/off functionality with 2 buttons as if there was just one button it would work on a toggle where you would have no idea if the switch is on or off while working it through walls.

Can this use normal AA or AAA batteries ( Rather than the more difficult-to-get 12 Volt batteries that other Retailers (Selling Remote Controls from Eastern Europe) seem to use? Can re-chargeables be used?

Asked by: BSL_TONY
No, I am sorry but the item will not work for this use.
