Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peace of mind I got this device in black to wire into where an existing security light was. It wires in easily and is a doddle to set up. It isn't large in size and doesn't look out of place on the side of the building. To get seamless video and audio, the device will need good Wi-Fi connectivity and an upload speed of 2mbps. Due to a solid walled property and my Wi-Fi router being far away, I put a £20 powerline Wi-Fi adaper in a room near the camera and it works a treat. I've set up motion detection zones so I only get alerted to real events. The floodlights are really good without being over the top. A great device and I'm pleased I have it. I will be getting another one for the rear of the property next year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ring Floodcam I really rate Ring products, and the floodcam is excellent. Easy to set up, and great quality.. this is my second floodcam, as I was so impressed with the first.

This would not be suitable. It requires a stable home broadband connection.

What type of junction box will I need for this floodlight?

Asked by: Adrian
when I looked at the Install video on their website, the junction box looks like you could use a ....'cctv security camera mount junction box'...type that into Google and have a look at the junction boxes available ...hope this helps .

Is there any reason why this can't be powered by a three pin plug rather than wired in via a junction box?

Asked by: Steed
It’s hardly electrical advice - simply, will it work off a plug?!

I've never owned a security camera before, is it as easy as screwing it onto the wall and go? Or does it have wires that need to be going into places that I have no idea about? I can just about manage to drill to a wall, how long if battery life? Thanks.

Asked by: Cari
The floodlight has to be wired into the mains, if you have an existing outdoor light then typically the wiring for that can be utilised. However if you do not or you are unsure about wiring the device we would recommend you contract the services of a qualified electrical installer.

Is it easy to connect this to the home broadband router? Do I need to use a powerline adaptor if it is outside the range of the wireless?

Can you set the alerts up to go to more than one mobile phone?
