Product overview

  • Adapter to connect one RJ45 to two RJ45s
  • Quick convert of a single socket to double outlet
  • Moulded in a durable, white plastic housing

An adapter for converting a single RJ45 socket to a double outlet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got this to use with a TP-Link range extender which has only one RJ45 socket, used for the PS3. I needed another socket for the Sky HD box, and this works perfectly. I thought there might be some conflict issues with the PS3 and Sky box into one socket, but I was wrong. This RJ45 adapter is a simple and cheap solution if you need 2 RJ45 sockets and only have 1.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not appear to work with Power Line Adapter Wanted to use it in a Power Line Adapter, but if two cables were connected, they both lost connection. Now let's see if I can get my money back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inadequate fastening I bought this product a couple of days ago from my local store. Unfortunately, although it inserts into the ethernet socket well, the clip fastener is not springy enough to hold it in and as soon as I have the two cables inserted it falls out of the socket. Nothing I can do keeps it in.

I have this adapter and I have my Freesat box and Xbox 360 connected to this adapter and whenever I am on my Xbox 360, I keep getting disconnected from Xbox Live, not sure if this has something to do with the RJ45 double adapter or something???

Asked by: sjennings1
This is not suitable for simultaneous connections, if the Freesat box outputs a signal at the same time as the Xbox it will disrupt the connection. What you require is a network switch which will keep the connections separate and should remove the disruptions. Something like this may be suitable for you; http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/tp-link-5-port-gigabit-desktop-switch-n14nf

Are all 8 input pins brought out in both sockets, so the two sockets are in parallel or is it an 'economiser' designed so that two devices are put onto a single line and re split at the far end?  I need to combine two analogue phones on structured wiring.

Asked by: Martin
All of the pins are brought out in both sockets, to whit each of the two sockets offered are an exact replica of the original socket. Unfortunately we are unable to offer any advice on your intended usage.

Can I use to connect ethernet to either blueray player and youview, when one or other is off and the other on

Asked by: bhk1
No unfortunately not. You would be better of choosing a network switch to achieve this. I've included a link below: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/tp-link-5-port-10100-network-switch-zf82d

Can I assign seperate IP addresses to these ports?

Asked by: Simon1068uk
No, these would share a single IP address as they cannot be used at the same time.

I have a broadband connection via TP 500mbps powerline adapters - but at the receiving end I want to connect to my bluray and to my set top box - can I use this product for this purpose please? If not what do I need? Thanks

Asked by: Alan
I am sorry but the item in question does not support use in your intended application. You would need a network switch like linked below: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/tp-link-5-port-10100-network-switch-zf82d
