The device has to be physically reset with a manual push to resume operation after a fault.

Can I use this as an on/off switch

Asked by: maren
This would not be suitable as an on/off switch. While the test and reset functions would cut and restore power from the socket, repeated switching can cause undue strain on the mechanism, potentially causing faults which will prevent effective operation of the RCD function.

As long as you are not trying to use more than the maximum current of 13A at any one time this would be fine but please be aware most cookers use more than this.
