Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best USB 3.0 Secure Harddrive I have come across. It meets all my needs and extremely fast, neat and easily carried everywhere I go. I trust it with both work and personal data and have every faith that the SSD will not let me down! It is just as happy with MacBook Pro as it is with MS Surface Pro 3 or a desktop PC. MacOS, Win 7, 8 or 10 are all fine. Decided to format the drive and use BitLocker instead of the Samsung encryption and password features; no problems. Win 10 remembers the disk and there is no need for password entry every time; just great! I love it and I wasn't even paid for this recommendation - any freebees Samsung?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Software lets product down Nice product in terms of hardware, but the software really lets it down - for instance, there is no way to lock the device (with the passcode) when using it other than unplugging it so that means if you let your computer go to standby and restart it the device is still unlocked. Also there is no way, with the current software to have more than one of these on a computer as the software cannot differentiate between devices. The software lacks an EJECT and LOCK function.

The drive would need to be formatted for use with a Mac computer. You can find out how to format a drive for use on Mac with a basic web search with any good web browser.

Can I use bitlocker on this drive, one of your replies suggest that you can probably encrypt this drive but I need to be sure before I purchase one.

While it doesn't come with such a program, software encryption should be fine for use with an SSD.
