what is the data transfer ? 6 gb

Asked by: jay1
Technically Les is right; the cables have no influence on data transfer- but! Cheaper cables can be flaky and you might not get 6Gb’s transfer with a cheap, flaky cable. Sata III cables are better made to be able to throughput the speeds of the interfaces and in particular, if upgrading to an SSD you might find (cheaper) Sata II cables to be unable to cope with the data throughput, and this doesn’t just mean they’ll run slower; it means data loss, corruption and a whole poop-load of problems. If you Google it, you’ll read that it makes no difference AND it makes a big difference. I tend to go with the option that is safest; Sata III cables with Sata III devices. For the few extra pennies, is it worth it?

No speed rating on description. Does it support 6Gbps drives? Thanks. Pls improve the descriptions for your cables many are sadly lacking any detail

Asked by: Supersonic
SATA cables are not speed rated. The maximum transfer speed of the drive and the version of SATA interface supported by the motherboard determine the speed of transfer, the cable is irrelevant.
