About this product

Product overview

• PCI Express 1-lane (x1) SATA II adapter works in any available PCI Express slot • Supports SATA data rates up to 3Gb/sec (300 MB/s) • Supports SATA hard drives of any capacity• Internal PCI-E card for connecting 2 x external eSATA & 2 x internal SATA devices

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not great. The description and name says 2 x External AND 2 x Internal SATA ports, but in fact you can only use 2 of the 4 ports at any one time. You have to use jumpers to specify which two ports you want to use. Also comes packed in horrendous plastic packaging which you need scissors to open, when a cardboard box would have done the job better and been more environmentally friendly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Installed on Windows 2003 Server to replace a previous eSata card that had become unreliable. Windows 2003 found and installed drivers with no problem. The card has two channels and the jumpers have to be set to decide which of the four connectors can be used - the problem comes when you try to do this as the instructions are not very detailed and somewhat ambiguous. With a bit of perseverance, some educated guesswork and what little help could be extracted from the instruction sheet it now works and does a fine job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesnt work! I brought this a week ago for a Windows 10 build and neither my bios nor my windows installation detects it! I dont even know if I can return it as it comes in packaging plastic packaging that needs to be destroyed to get into it. Not happy, what a waste of money.

Hi I purchased this card to add a secondary hard drive to my PC. I have plugged it all in and I have tried to install the drivers but it says it is not compatible with my PC. I am running Windows 8.1 pro. shall I upgrade to Windows 10 then try?

Asked by: Sachin
If you run the Windows 10 compatibility check it will let you know if the device is not supported.

Hi, will this Card works with any SATA HD or SSD? regardless if they are SATA 2 or SATA 3?Can I boot PC from this installed card and totally disable the onboard embedded SATA controller? the booting will be from the HD and or DVD optical drive?thanks

Asked by: HamiltonUK
The SATA II specification is just the maximum data transfer speed, you can connect a SATA I,II or III device but the maximum speed will be SATA II (300 mb/s) The card has to have drivers installed into the OS in order to function, as a result you cannot boot from this card or replace the on-board SATA ports with it, it will only function to give additional ports to an existing motherboard. Finally the card is configurable to internal or external eSATA port use, but you can only use one or the other .. not both
