What is a Sky Tracer?
The Sky Tracer is a rubber band helicopter with built-in LED lights. Launch the Sky Tracer over 30 metres into the air with the bungee catapult, then watch as it gently spins back to earth using its copter blades. Once it starts to get dark, its multi-coloured LED light will help light the way and flash to give you an amazing light show on the way back down.

How does the Sky Tracer work?
When you wind up the propeller, energy is stored in the rubber band. Upon release, the band rapidly releases all of the stored up energy by unwinding. This in turn transfers that energy to both the Sky Tracer itself and its propeller blades. Horizontal air resistance (or drag) builds up as a result of the Sky Tracer pushing against the surrounding air – making it harder for the body to spin. This routes more of the stored energy into the propeller blades – because it is easier to turn – causing it to spin more rapidly, creating lift by pushing the air downward.
