Product overview

  • Insulation-type tape ideal for waterproofing connections
  • Layers of tape merges to create a seal
  • Supplied on a 10m reel

A very useful derivative of insulating tape which can be used for waterproofing connections. To use, the top protective layer is peeled off and the rubbery self- amalgamating tape underneath is wrapped tightly around the connection to be waterproofed. Eventually, the layers of this tape will merge together and create a waterproof seal. This tape is highly recommended for automotive work and also aerial installations, particularly those for satellite TV where cables enter the LNB and polariser. The tape is black, 19mm wide and is supplied on 10m reels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stretch the Tape! You must STRETCH the tape first to enable it's amalgamating properties onto itself (i.e. don't just wrap it around itself) that way you will also get it to go further.

Can this tape be used to fix a minor leak in a water pipe?

Asked by: Timm
I wouldn't think that it is designed to take any kind of pressure, I would advise to check with a plumber the best way to fix a leaking water pipe.
