Product overview

• Perfect for connecting a camera to a DVR or monitor over long distances or as a replacement for your existing kit • Includes Audio / Video and power connections

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One small problem was that the website photo shows male connectors both ends for yellow and white wires but the delivered unit has female connectors on one end. Only one of the BNC adaptors I'd ordered was therefore suitable for my use. However, the local Maplin store very helpfully solved my problem by swapping connector adaptors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bought one of these cables to connect to a sentinel camera which I have got in a Kestrel nestbox on a farm building. When I offerred the cable up to the lead from the camera, the connections were wrong. The connections from the camera were female A/V, and female power. The end of the extension with male A/V also had a female power connection, so there was no way of connecting them. I found this odd as the camera and extension lead are the same make. I knew this could be rectified with a couple of female to male connectors, but I took the lead back to Maplin Wolverhampton to see what they said. They made me look a bit stupid as they got a camera like mine off the shelf and it connected no problem. I insisted I needed some female to male converters, which I had to pay for of course, and it solved the problem when I got home. Sentinel must have changed the connectors at some time in the last few years as my 4/5 year old camera is definitely different to the ones sold now, including the extension lead it came with. I thought when I took the lead back they would say 'yes this happens all the time, here are the connectors', but instead I got in a right muddle trying to convince them that I wasn't connecting the camera up wrong. Anyway it's all sorted now, it's just a bit annoying having to fork out for the extra connectors just because they've changed them. Also the extension purchased from the store does not look like the one in the picture either. Mine has female A/V and male power on one end, and on the other end it has male A/V and female power. The product is fine otherwise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but it was not stated if terminals were male or female. I had to buy adapters. A further £3

will this cable connect a tv to external speakers

Asked by: christy
No, this is designed to transmit video, audio and power between a CCTV camera and DVR. To advise on what you would need for your TV, we would need information on the speaker outputs on your TV and the inputs on the speakers you wish to connect to. If you have this information, please call on 0333 400 9500 and we can assist you with your item.

hi, I need a version of this which has a male end on the yellow and white plugs

Asked by: Ed the Egg
These cables are fitted with the male phono plugs. If you are trying to join two such cables together, we do have female couplers available, however, we do not do extension cables at these lengths I'm afraid. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-gold-phono-coupler-pl57m

It would depend on what camera you have purchased and if you have extra cable on the kit. but this should work if the cable is under 30m.
