What can I do with this kit?
Generate power with this motor/generator kit. This is a great way of demonstrating how you can transfer energy from one form to another. Place the generator on a higher level such as a bench or table and wrap a thread (not included) around it so that a weight attached to it hits the floor. Attach a 100g mass (not included) and see how much electricity is generated as it falls, pulling the pulley around at speed.

What does it teach?
Demonstrate forces and energy transfers with this kit. Before the mass is released, it has potential energy due to gravity. This is converted to kinetic energy as it falls. The kinetic energy is then turned to electrical energy as it turns the generator. Change the mass used or the height of the generator (and length of thread) and see what changes. The gears and sizes of the pulleys have been chosen to make it easier for a range of experiments to take place.

Can you tell me what the pulley diameter is please and the diameter of the belt that fits the pulley groove. Also what is the voltage to rpm generated ?Many thanks

I am looking for a 9v Brushed Motor, suitable to power a small home-made toy car. How big this? it looks way to big for my project. Do you suggest any other one?
