Rated 5 out of 5 by from What customer service I bought these lights a few months ago. Unfortunately, one of the lights were missing from the box. I called customer service who sent a replacement box without any hassle.. The lights are great. We attached them to a new fence recently put up and everyone comments on how fab the lights look.

Do you make a extension cable for these lights we haven't all got a handy outside plug

Asked by: Rosie
On this occasion Maplin do not stock a product that exactly meets your requirements, or indeed anything close enough to offer you as an alternative.

What size hole is required to fit them?

Asked by: John
The Hole required is not 25mm approx. It is 31mm as per instructions. As finding a 31mm hole saw is near on impossible I used a 30mm one and they fit perfectly.

Could you tell me if the transformer is situated in the plug or is it within the junction box for the lights

Asked by: John
Far too long to answer. The lights have been delivered and fitted already. For anyone else considering getting these lights, the transformer is located within the plug so don't be put off with the length of the cables. As they are 12v 0.5a you can split and extend the cables with speaker wire to the length required for your project. (Solder and heat shrink) They are very nice lights and I am very pleased with them. Time will tell wether they will last, but build quality looks bang on.

If I want to use these in pairs built into say table lamps I would need to discard the transformer and buy off the shelf supplies. What voltage/current do these run off? ie using the individual LED units as components rather than a complete system.

Asked by: Gordon
As much as we would love to be able to help here, as Technical Support Advisors we cannot offer design project advice or assistance, we are more than happy to locate products and support you with your purchases but we are not able to design entire circuits or projects for you. If you do have the design/circuit information detailing the value of the components needed we will be happy to locate these for you.
