Which is the tx or rx face. The side with the bubble on or the falt size. Ive blown 8 each of these attempting to determine configuration

Asked by: robin
The helpful answer is, by deduction, the black side of the RX is the back (non-absorbant), with the lens/bump at the front. It follows that the front of the TX has the lens. By elimination and test, the data sheets shows the configuration with the lens facing outward: with the Cathode/Collector on the left and the Anode/Emitter on the right for both the TX and RX. There's nothing wrong with the circuit, it's working now that the orientation and polarity of the components is correct. The Frontispiece/heading pictures are wrong and misleading. I hope this not only answers the question but clarifies what seems to be a common query

I have both the CH11M IR Rxer and its sister CH10L Txer. All have equal legs. Which is the anode/cathode or Emitter/Collector, with the transparent bump facing upward/ towards me? The two heading diagrams disagree with datasheets downloaded.

Asked by: Robin
The images is for display but the Data sheet will be correct.

Today I bought 1 receiver and 1 transmitter, both parts have equal length legs the only difference being one has a small black square behind the bulb which I assume is the receiver. Could you confirm?

This item is listed as an IR Receiver, but the datasheet states IR Transmitter. I have received my order of these parts, and some of the devices have a long/short leg configuration and others have equal length legs. Are these the same device?

Asked by: PJQA
The long / short are the receiver, the equal are the transmitter, it sounds like we have accidentally sent you a mis-picked order. Please contact our Customer Service Team and they will arrange a replacement for you.
