What features does my SIM enabled kit have?
All you need is a regular SIM card with credit to give the Smanos X500 SIM Enabled RFID Wireless Intruder Alarm Kit the ability to connect to up to six phones numbers. The Smanos X500 is capable of SMS and phone communication as well as app control. You can also use this alarm as a regular phone just dial the number on the alarm keypad and talk. Using your phone and the app you can arm, disarm, monitor and program your alarm remotely as well as using as a two way intercom or listening device.

Why use RFID tags?
RFID tags are small key ring tags that can be used to disarm the alarm without the need for passwords. Each of the Smanos X500 alarm kits RFID tags has its own unique identity code. Get SMS messages from your control panel telling you exactly which RFID tags have been used and when for added peace of mind.

Easy to Setup and Ready to Go
All sensors in the Smanos X500 SIM Enabled RFID Wireless Intruder Alarm Kit are wireless and easily paired with the control unit. All the wireless sensors included are battery operated and are simple to install almost anywhere up to 80m from the control panel. The control box comes with a loud 95 dB siren built-in which can be programmed to activate for between 1-9 minutes.

Wireless Connectivity
The extremely flexible Smanos X500 alarm kit comes with one PIR Motion detect, one door & window contact, two remote controls and two RFID tags. It can be extended up to 50 sensors, 10 remote controls and 50 RFID tags which can all be named and is compatible with a wide range of other accessories. These include ceiling mounted PIRs, outdoor sirens, flood detectors, smoke alarms and gas detectors giving you an accessory for almost any event (not included).

What are the benefits of zones?
This alarm kit has 4 different zone modes. Normal zone detectors are on if the alarm is in armed or house mode. Home zone allows you to set some detectors (usually internal PIRs) to be switched off when you are in the house whilst the outside sensors are still active. Delay zone contains sensors that you would prefer to have a delay before they go off such as door sensors to give you time to get to the alarm panel. 24 hour zones are always on whether the alarm is armed or not smoke, gas and flood detectors are usually assigned to this zone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and works perfectly for me. I bought this for my holiday property and it is brilliant. I know exactly who goes into my villa and when and use the RFID tags for the management company and neighbours. This is great comfort for me as I live over 400 miles away! I had a slight problem which was my fault but the guys at Response were fantastic in helping me out. Can't recommend highly enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good alarm system, good customer service after some issues Bought a Smanos X500 at Maplins and had initially issues with poor reception / connectivity. Smanos customer service quite responsive and Maplin very easy going swapping my initially purchased system, as it appeared to be faulty. The new one is now installed and seems to be doing exactly what \i want it to do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well designed mechanics let down in other areas Beautifully made and easy to install, and the kit from the single box works as described. However... it seems to get confused during set-up of sensors and RFID tags, so the SMS messages don't come straight away, and then they all come maybe half an hour later. Eventually this settles down. The Android App works well. The biggest let down for me was adding a remote keypad, which also has an RFID reader. While that does work, the system does not send SMSs when the system is armed or disarmed using the remote keypad, with keycode or RFID. Since programming in the additional RFID tags the system disarms itself and needs a reset... At the time of writing I hope this will fix it but it is an annoying niggle that means its taking up more time than I had hoped.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor range I brought this two days ago I set it up with a friend with one door sensor and one pir sensor after going through the test I set everything up at a distance of 11-15 meters away not in line of sight !!, I then set out to test it all the pir showed movement as a little red light appeared when u walked by it it was guarding my summerhouse door but alarm refuse to engage I then tested the door sensor I opened the door the little red light showed that is was working but no alarm I took the pir sensor down opened the back up and found two corroded battery's in there I replaced straight away and tested again still no alarm we did a hard reset and paired everything up again took it out of test mode and still no alarm it says up to 80meters maybe in line of sight with each other but no if obstacles are in the way, oh the phone app worked a treat though once we brought everything nearer to the command unit say 7 feet away hey the alarm worked !!!! I will take this back as I don't think its worth £209 quid and get myself a wired one as this is just ridiculous avoid it unless everything is in close together like in a hallway or front door entrance iam very disappointed in this product

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good but not consistent I have purchased the X500 alarm unit. The response on the hand remote control seems very poor, I sometimes have press the unlock button 3 - 4 times. Sometimes I have to unlock with fob instead. Similar issue with 1 x door contact. Sometimes the door contact does not sound the alarm when activated. Other times it works perfect, the door contact always flashes red when triggered. My issue is, the alarm seems to work perfectly sometimes and other times doesn't work at all.

Is this pet friendly? Will my dog set this off?

Asked by: Paul
As its not listed as a pet friendly PIR, your dog will probably set the alarm off. You may need to look at our Yale selection as they have a Pet Friendly PIR sensor that can be purchased for their kits. I have copied a link, on the product page it will show you the kits compatible with the device.

Hey there, Ive bought a X500 a Sainsbury Nokia 106 phone for the SIM. I've removed all security from the SIM and installed as the instructions but network fails to register. The SIM works fine in the phone. Any ideas?

Asked by: Paul M
I recommend contacting the manufacturer of the sim and ask them why it wont register on their network.
