The Solar Mate II is a safe and cost effective alternative to installing mains lighting on remote buildings. The high power 12V DC Compact Fluorescent Bulb (CFL) has a brightness equivalent to a 45watt filament bulb yet is very energy efficient. The kit comprises; 10wp crystalline solar panel, 2 x CFL bulbs and bulbs holder, wall switch, basic solar panel mounting kit, 7m cable, fuse, connectors and detailed installation instructions.

Does the lighting system connect straight to the battery? I have the Freeloader 40 fold up solar panel and looking for a compatible lighting system.

Would it be possible to use this to charge a small car battery? My thoughts were that is has to put charge into a car battery anyway.

Yes the panel charges a 12v battery (not supplied) The lights are then powered by the energy generated and stored in the battery.
