Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this as an aditional TV for my motorhome as the main TV cannot be seen from the front lounge and we often leave the bed made up in the rear lounge. Using the Status 530 roof aerial it picks up a large number of freeview channels and gives a brilliant picture quality with a decent range of viewing angles from the side. I haven't been in an area with a strong enough signal to use the included aerial but I really don't have a need for it anyway. The missing AV lead, mentioned by another reviewer was promptly provided by the very helpful staff at the Bracknell shop. The small size is ideal for what I need. Overall I am delighted with the TV and would thoroughly recommend it. Ken

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've had one of these for several months now and I'm pleased with it. The sound quality is not good and external amplified speakers help a lot. The aerial is good and pulls in more signal than you would expect, but is not up to the standard of a multi element roof mounted yagi. Screen definition is excellent, with good colour and little smearing. One of its best points. Will not record to USB from anything other than digital TV. No trouble converting films to suitable format for USB playback. Stand is attached to battery pack, not TV - change the pack and the stand travels with the pack - dopey design. Works fine with USB hard drives (MUST BE POWERED FROM ITS OWN SOURCE, NOT TV) Highly recommended, particularly at Maplins price, which is cheaper than anywhere else I've found.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant little tv I bought this so I could watch world cup games, whilst camping in Norfolk. The external Arial picked up all channels and tuned in straight away. The picture is brilliant for a sub tv. I charged it via the cigarette socket in the car which took about 2 hours. I then watched Spain get thrashed by Holland and after 2 hours the tv was still running on its own battery. Teletext works well. Like others state the speakers are a bit tinny, but I plugged in an external speaker via the earphone socket and no issues. Well done to Maplin and the maker Sovos. It's great for the money. Oh yes and the supplied Arial is magnetic. It sticks well to a car roof, and the lead is long enough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I bought one of these last year and have used it most nights. It's a bit battered and temperamental now after being carted around in a rucksack so purchased a new one in April 2013. The design has changed a lot from the older model. The battery is no longer a heavy clip-on unit with the built-in stand. Now it's a user replaced one under a flap in the the back of the TV. The stand is now part of the TV. The TV is a lot lighter than the older model. However there is one design change which for me outweighs all the improvements. While watching the TV there is now a very bright blue LED next to the remote sensor on the bottom right of the screen. This is extremely irritating. While watching the set all you can do is stare at at the LED. Why would anyone think that is a useful thing? Yes the LED has it's uses - it shows when the TV is charging but in normal watching mode you have to look at the light. I STRONGLY recommend getting a piece of black tape over the Blue LED or your viewing of this TV will be disrupted. If poss, have a look at the LED in the shop before buying one of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant Brought this to save hospital TV cost. Magnetic ariel works well stuck to bed frame. And if you master the film converting to avi format on to usb it is brilliant for the night of rubbish programme. And will record programme too Only down side if any the ariel is a bit on the big side I understand it works with some of the more expensive small ones, it's just difficult to find a bag to keep it all in. But it really it is handy having a strong magnetic base and gives an excellent picture. Would really recommend it
