Rated 4 out of 5 by from I wouldn't agree with the previous review in that I do live in a bad signal area (Aberdeen) and I found this device useful in alligning an element aerial. The trick is to start with an audible tone and gradually reduce gain whilst trying to get the needle as much to the right as possible. Tools are useful provided they are used properly. The instructions aren't the best, but once you get past that I found this device useful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This meter is not calibrated, so is intended only to assist alignment of an aerial for maximum signal strength. The gain control has a huge range, so will cope with a wide range of input signal strength, but will give little idea of whether that signal is suitable for good tv reception. It is a cost-effective alignment assist.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It will be no use if you intend to use it on a caravan in anything other than a high signal strength area. My system shows 75% signal strength but the meter does not even register. Generally it would appear to be of little use unless in a stonr signal area.

Asked by: Peter
You can use the device to test the signal strength from either device, it does not test if the aerials are working simply indicates the signal strength.
