I have been given 3 numbers for illuminated switches they are N29BJ / N30BJ / N31BJ.  Does each switch have a different colour on the toggle? They are shown as all the same colour on your website

Asked by: Rob Austin
This picture is the same for all models, but the different codes will have different colours, the colour is covered in the title for example this one is the Red one.

LEDs light from about +5V upwards, at that voltage Red, blue and amber are usable, green very feeble. Blue LED is always a lot brighter than others. Each LED draws about 12ma. LEDs only on when switch is flipped. Very pretty used in combination.
Asked by: Alan T
Many thanks for the feedback, the LEDs have a built in resistor tailored for the 12V use, which explains the lack of light at 5V.

Does the switch work at 9v or 5v or does it only opertate at 12v.
Asked by: John
The switch will operate at a lower voltage but the illumination requirers 12v.

Connecting the ''Power'' tag to +12V and the ''VCC'' to the load does not let the LED light up when the switch is ON (although the load does operate). Does the ''Ground'' tag need to be earthed for the LED to work?
Asked by: Richard M
Yes the ground does need to be connected.

what size mounting hole does this switch require? can it switch mains? or is it limited to 12v? is the 12v for the light?
Asked by: Mark
panel cut out is 12mm. the switch is rated @ 12V 20A so if you wanted to put more voltage through it the amount of current it will handle will decrease.

What current does the led use? If used for switching voltages greater than 12V what happens to the illumination?
Asked by: Ralph Stamper
the illumination only works at 12V. Putting a higher voltage through may not work either as the switch contacts are rated 12V also
