How easy is it to install?
The Swann SWHOM-DC820B doorbell is completely wireless for simple and easy DIY installation. Plug the chime unit into a mains socket and this doorbell will work within a 50m range of the push button giving you a wide area of coverage.

Can I adjust the sound?
The unit comes with 32 in-built chimes, as well as an adjustable volume control, allowing you to find the perfect sound and level for you to enjoy. As well as an eye-catching backlight flash on the main unit to make sure you never miss a caller at the door.

Is it easy to use?
The chimes are easily changeable by using the left and right buttons on the front of the chime unit and the volume is easily adjustable by using the up and down buttons on the front of the chime unit.

I have been looking for a door bell for some time now and never seemed to find one which had sticky pads on for the bell push as I didn't want to drill holes in my PVC front door, but a chat with my friendly Maplin manager soon pointed me to this one. After removing from the packaging I used a screwdriver to ease the back off the bell push to remove the little plastic tab which keeps the battery from making contact, then plugged the main unit into a electric socket and pressed the bell push to adjust the volume by means of the arrows. The first ringtone is a bell which suits me fine so I haven't tried any others, but they are there if you fancy a change. I tried the main unit in my kitchen which is thirty two feet from the front door and it works fine. Finally using the double sided sticky pad I attached the bell push to the front door, all sorted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Range not good I needed it to work at a range of about 50' - but it can't of more than about 25' The rings tones are disgusting - why can't they supply anything that is normal rather than stupid tinkly tunes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor range and limited usable ring tones I bought this bell a couple of months ago. It was easy to fit. The range is poor, more like 10M than 50. I changed the battery in the bell push unit to eliminate any low power issues but no improvement. Only 1 or 2 of the tones are usable IMO. Recently it has become unreliable with the push only working intermittently. It will have to go.

However, I am pleased with the ease of installation and subsequent performance and took the trouble of testing the operational range before fixing the final postions of the two components.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Swann Wireless Door Chime SWHOM-DC820P Our Swann Wireless Door Chime SWHOM-DC820P is less than 5 years old and the door bell push has developed an intermittent fault. As this product is still on the market I expected to be able to buy a replacement bell push but SWANN tell me: "The unit is well out of warranty and we also do not sell bell push". So much for good customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not up to Swann Standards Stopped working after a year, the bell push lights up and the mains unit works when manually pushed, but looks like they aren't paired any more and theres no way to do that, when checking online, so its the bin for this. Check out the Swann site before you buy, the reviews there are very poor too. Not sure why Maplins still sell it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bell works fine The bell itself works fine, but the sticky bit on the back with which you're meant to stick it to the door fell off within the first few hours and now it's sort of resting next to the door, which isn't ideal.
