How does the window/door sensor protect my home?

How does the PIR sensor protect my home?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product - Steer clear I have had this system for two months and since then I have had to contact Swann countless times with little or no response. The hub itself likes to declare itself offline and no matter what you do will not come back online. This makes the whole system useless. After a factory reset and Swann having to delete my account and start over it came back online only for it to fail a few days later. The cameras are just as useless. The indoor camera is sometimes online and sometimes not, it depends how its feeling. The outdoor camera was working but has also now declared itself permanently offline. The problem I have now is that the sensors are installed around the house so to remove them and send the whole unit back is not going to be easy, I definitely won't be able to box them back up. I feel at the moment like I am going to be left out of pocket as Swann do not seem to want to respond to my messages. My advice is to steer clear of this and other Swann products,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea. Terrible product and service. Great idea. Terrible product and service. In my opinion this product is technically floored and even if it did function as designed the way it works has some major floors. The helpline is advertised as 24/7 but the best I got was a call back 24 hours later. I contacted the help line ten times via email and phone and managed to get just one email reply and one scheduled telephone conversation. The technical issues with the product are as follows 1) the outdoor siren keeps going off in short bursts despite no alarm or even in home mode, 2) the sensors and hub drop off the wifi network a lot, 3) the indoor camera triggers motion alerts despite there being no motion. The design floors are as follows, 1) the range of the hub to the sensors is so short it is only suitable for a small flat... think 10m, 2) the key fobs cannot be used as key fobs as the buttons are easily pressed when in a bag or pocket, 3) there is no alert to warn you the alarm has been triggered so the first thing you get is the siren going off full blast, 4) the app is very slow to respond. I don't normally write reviews online but I was so angry with this product being sold and the poor service I wanted to warn potential buyers as there are no reviews online. The one time I did speak with a swannone expert he admitted that other people are having similar issues and yet he could provide no solution. ... and the product is still being sold.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product - returned to store and swapped for a Yale I bought this product just as it was released, and reviews were pretty much non-existent. I have one simple word for anyone ever considering this alarm system - DON'T! I have had so many false activations from both my PIR sensors that they have been switched off over the last three months. However the straw that broke the camels back, was two days ago the alarm was going off every 40 seconds in an empty house, from a sensor that had been deactivated anyway! Siren sounds of its own accord, which is far from ideal in the middle of the night when you are trying to sleep!. Remote control buttons are pressed just by placing it in your pocket. System falls in and out of connectivity for no apparent reason. After six months of living with this complete failure of a system I returned it to the store and swapped for a low-tech Yale system. I would however like to point out that the customer service from Maplin's Poole store was absolutely first class.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing and absolutely terrible technical support I bought this system a couple of months ago, and have had a succession of problems with it. Like other reviewers, the system drops offline at regular intervals without any apparent reason. The internet works, the wifi works, but the hub does not. The hub is only about 15 feet away from our router too and no walls, so there shouldn't be any interference either. In one instance, we went away for a fortnight, and the hub went offline after a week and did not come back online until we returned home. Nothing we could do about it in the meantime. So it is impossible to have any confidence in it. I have contacted tech support countless times for guidance without any response. After chasing up, I finally received a response asking me about the speed of my internet connection. I provided the information by return, and then heard nothing from Swann for 6 weeks. After I chased several times, I finally received an email saying that I would be telephoned today. Did I get a call? No. Hopeless. I want to like this product, I do. It was fairly easy to set up and when it works, it works. Can I trust it? No. Can I recommend it to anyone else? Not a chance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst rubbish bought it about a month ago, it has never worked cameras drop of and don't work motion sensors and door sensors don't work, key fobs don't work, cant arm the system. spoke to swann eventually and it will all be fixed on a software update tomorrow?!! we will see. thrown all the boxes out so don't know if i can return the rubbish. very disappointed. i had a Motorola system about 10 years ago that worked better

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Spent loads on Swannone, waste of money!! Cameras lose connection at least once a day, so have to reboot router. App is buggy at best, it can't even show alerts and notifications in order! Most of the time we can't even arm/disarm the system using the app. You have to pay per month for cloud storage, and that's PER CAMERA!! So after paying for the hardware and then doing a self install, 3 cams is still costing a lot of money per month! Cameras don't record motion detection and video feed constantly drops out! Constant false detections. Terrible video lag of 4-5 mins (not wifi issue as have 100mb optic fibre). Sometimes can't even log in or connect to hub, I have been advised that the Swann servers are in Australia hence the connection issues. Very very poor customer service, long wait times on hold, call backs taking 4 days!! Not a happy chap!! I have given them one more chance to sort out server issues before I return it all to store!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good alarm system, nice app Not seen any of the issues other reviewers have mentioned. Seems to work pretty well so far, Mainly been using the iPhone app which works fast, not bothererd with keyfobs so can't comment on that. I used to have a B&Q alarm that had no apps this is much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT If I was a burglar I would seek out every single house with a swannone alarm. The not so smart 'smart' Hub is supposed to be wireless but swanns technical support told me it is not yet configured to work wirelessly. The camera goes offline frequently, so too do the motion sensors and the key fob doesn't work at all. I had to send the siren back to the manufactures because it would not pair with the not so smart 'smart' hub. I spent £500 in total on all the different bits and pieces and I still do not have an operational burglar alarm. Oh and the technical support call centre is based in Manilla and if you try to call you will be on hold for at least 45 minutes. Countless emails have gone unanswered to the technical support help email address. But I did receive an email which was intended for another customer who appeared to be as equally unhappy with the quality of the products as I am. I assume this email was sent by mistake rather than a deliberate breach of data protection. I could list a whole lot of other shortcomings - But in a nutshell do yourself, your family, and your house a favour and do not buy this dreadful product.

I have read reviews when it was first released that suggest there is no short entry delay setting? Do you know if this is still the case? Thank you

Asked by: Jimbo
Just an update. Had a response from Swann. Entry/Exit delay can be set at 10/20/30 seconds.

How does the SwannOne Wireless Smart Alarm Kit works?

Asked by: Sonny
This works similar to a normal alarm, but instead of using a fob or keypad to deactivate you can use your smart phone, also there will be extra parts added to it over time like keyless door entry systems etc.
