What frequencies can I listen to with this radio?
Listen to your favourite channels on a wide range of broadcast frequencies. Whether you want to hear AM or FM, shortwave or longwave this is the radio for you and with 500 channel memory you can store all your favourites. With multiple ways of tuning to your preferred stations and many more features as well, this is a great radio to use at home or wherever you roam. The PL-310ET comes with a soft protective case, stereo earphones and a user manual to get you started.

How do I get stations on the radio?
The Easy Tune Mode allows you to auto scan frequencies and stores them in the ETM memory rather than the standard memory making it more efficient to tune into a radio channel. If the ETM doesn’t pick up a channel you can always add it manually with the fast tuning mode to get you close to the desired station and slow tuning to fine tune to the best frequency. Auto-browsing will scan all stations pausing for three seconds on each you can even press M to store and continue to scan. You can also type in the frequency you want to find to get your station if it is not in range the radio will display ‘Err’.
The Pl-310ET uses the DSP si4734 microchips to digitalise the analogue broadcasting signals to improve your radio’s sensitivity, selectivity, S/N ratio and reduce the effects interference.

What other features does this radio have?
See exactly what you’re doing with the intelligent light LCD screen which lights for a few seconds when you press any button then switches off to conserve battery. You can lock your keypad so that you don’t accidentally change the channel and there is a 3.5mm headphone socket for when you want to do some private listening. The radio even comes with a built in clock with an alarm that you can set to any channel so you can wake to your preferred channel.

How do I power the radio?
The PL-310ET can be powered from AA batteries (sold separately Order Code L43AL). If you prefer to use rechargeable batteries the radio has a built-in USB recharger so you can charge your batteries in the radio from a 5V USB socket. Take this shortwave radio with you wherever you go and listen to your favourite channels on the beach or while hiking.

I've just bought one of these from your Maidenhead Store. What plug do I need to connect an external antenna? Do you have them available?

Asked by: Uncannily
The item has a socket on the side for an external antenna, so it does support my "intended application". The question is specific. What plug do I need to connect an external antenna to the Tecsun?

Can the 5V USB plug be used to power the radio? I have seen a few reviews were people powered it without the batteries.

Asked by: Cuchculan
According to the manual, which can be viewed at the link below, the USB input is for the radio's recharging mode when used with rechargeable batteries. As such, we cannot guarantee the USB power alone would be enough to power the unit.

How much would a 5V USB and rechargable batteries be for this radio? Is the radio easy to operate and how long does it hold its charge?

Asked by: JPur
The AA's can be found in the link below Charge would be held for a few months when the item is not in use.
