Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terribly disappointed with this product. I needed 25m of the 30m to move my ADSL router into my computer room because I previously ran a 20m cat5 cable along the floor, which was getting in the way. Although the price and quality seems reasonable, this solution severely affects download and upload speed, which is probably due to the distance between master socket and new location. Had a download speed of 5 Mbps before installation, but now it's less then 1! The instructions for installation were extremely vague too (the installation diagram given does not match the actual product). I only recommend this product if you wish to use a telephone only and not broadband equipment.

The inner cables are so thin that it is impossible to strip outer sheath before connecting. It may be that they just fit and then tightened under screws, but no advice on this. Can you clarify asap please.

Hi, do you know of any reason why this extention cable shouldn't be used for a 'chip & pin' machine? We currently plug straight in to BT socket.
Asked by: Sandra
We can see no reason why this would be a problem.

I need this to connect me to my XBox for XBox Live. But i will be using the ethernet cable in an ethernet port in the wall. It is all directly linked up to my router, so will it work ?
Asked by: SJ S
We can see no reason why not.

I have installed a commtel broadband extension from my telephone master socket to an upstairs room. The adsl braodband line is working but the phone line isnt. Any ideas?
Asked by: L Judge
a microfilter is required at the main box, if an extension is used from the main box then the filter should be used at the end of the extension.

Will you please clarify what a ''splitter'' is, in your answer to PK''s question "Will these extensions provide a telephone point suitable for adsl broadband connection as well as a telephone?" Thank you.
Asked by: JMS
A splitter converts a single input/output into many inputs/outputs for broadband An ADSL filter would be required the term "splitter" in the faq was not the correct one to use,it should be filter.
