Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of space This “spy” clock is totally useless and a waste of space: it only records up to 10’ or less, then it just stops. I contacted IT support at Thumbs! and they asked me to send the clock back to them to “repair”. After a couple of week testing it, they send it back to me saying that this is how it supposed to work: it can only record up to 10’ maximum, so that’s is about 300MB only. The clock came with a 8GB card and I bought a 32GB card hoping it will record at least one hour or so to detect incident, but it is a piece of junk, very erratically sometimes it only records 3 minutes, other times 5 minutes, never seen more than 10 minutes recording, it is really frustrating. Avoid the huge hassle and don’t buy

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It depends what you want it for I awarded two stars because it really looks the business and will record video. BUT I wanted the motion sensor to trigger a video. When I tried to set it all the correct lights flashed but it failed to film when there was motion. Maplin took it back and refunded, no quibble, and offered me another. But I couldn't face getting it home and it not working again. So don't count on it for motion sensor filming!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay clear Not so cheap, but not working at all. I had one, tried everything to get it working, exchanged it for another one which did not work either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from An AWFUL waste of my money I bought this Christmas time for about £40 and WHAT a waste of money. The quality of the cam is woeful, the clicking of the clock CANNOT be removed, NOR the imprinted date stamp; they're each a constant irritant. The instructions are poor English plus in any event incorrect, so in addition you cannot change the pre-set date using them at all (cannot correct the 2012 date stamp as cannot enter 'note.txt'. In short, a time warp to 10 years back! In one-word: AVOID.

Can I swap the battery after its flat and keep recording without loosing what I first recorded ... can it run on windows 7

Asked by: Bobby
The unit would not erase the contents of the Micro SD card between charges, you would need to format this through a computer to delete files. This has been tested up to Windows Vista, so we cannot guarantee compatibility with Windows 7.

With the motion facility the clock starts recording only when it detects a motion i.e. it uses energy only during small periods so why this clock cannot record for longer than the two hours that lasts the battery when it is not used with a web cam?

Asked by: book1
Whilst it doesn't record until motion occurs, it still has to actively process the incoming image to check for changes that would indicate movement. Irrespective of what mode the unit is in the battery will last for 2 hours
