What would I use my DV camera for?

This tiny but powerful camera is only thumb-sized but capable of recording great video. The included accessory pack gives you lots of mounting options for a variety of situations. Its size and light weight make it perfect for carrying everywhere - just in case.

How long can I record?

Capture the moment in 720 x 480 pixel video recorded in real time and record up to two hours on only one charge. The mini DV camera even has a built in microphone to hear what’s going on around you. With its small size its perfect to take covert pictures or action shots.

Can I back up my recordings?

The mini DV records straight to microSD and you can use up to a 16GB microSD card (not included) for hours of footage. To charge just connect the camera to a USB socket to charge up the internal rechargeable battery. Watching your footage couldn’t be easier just plug into your computer’s USB port and save or view through your camera. The camera can even be used as a PC camera with your computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent quality picture I could not connect the camera to a laptop running Windows 10, it didn't recognise the device at all, but my laptop running Windows 7 connected fine. I can live with this as i take the micro SD card out and read the files off it via a card reader. Not perfect but I can live with it because the picture quality is so good. I found the charge only lasted 1 hour 20 mins, not the 2 hours stated, but that was the first run, it may improve with a few charge/discharge cycles. I have been disappointed with a number of other cameras like this in the past, usually poor video & sound, but this is much better so I can accept the other few shortcomings.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK camera I bought this to be mounted on my bike. the Video is not 720x480, more like 150x300. The width of the play back image is very narrow so you must be very accurate how to place it. And the image it self is very dark, it must be super bright to get a good quality recording. But for £20 it ok. Its ok but would recommend getting a camera that can offer at least 640x480.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic, but ..... The video quality is excellent. It's a nice neat little device with clear sound and video. The only problem I have is that when the camera is clipped to a shirt or jacket it needs to be angled down more or it just records the sky and rooflines. The clip just needs some means of adjusting the angle. It also makes a really good web cam, better, I think, than the built in web cam on my laptop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CAMERA WITH VIRUS INFECTED INSTALLATION DISK I bought this camera in Bedford Maplin shop. And to my shock and horror whilst installing its CD disk onto compuer/the wizzard or so, I got notification of virus being installed with it. When camera was attached to laptop and then also to PC it has messed up with screen and functions on PC/laptop. When memory card was inserted it could not be accessed in any way and pop up window was asking to format the disk (probably meaning SD card) but would not allow to do it when OK install it button was pressed. All in all at one point while camera was attached to PC and nothing else I could see contents of the Sd card I actualy removed and restaered PC-ghosts??!! paid 30 quid and am gutted. dont buy it its not worth the agro

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not all bad news! After reading several bad reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with the results from this little video camera. The picture quality is quite good for such a small device and the audio quality is more than acceptable. You will need to buy an SD card for about a tenner and I would recommend practising first, for a covert operation as it is tricky to frame the subject when you are not able to move the unit by hand secretly. I either went to high or too low but is easily worth £15.00. The best way to use this camera covertly, is to conceal the unit through an apeture in clothing etc. switching on before the desired moment, as it illuminates when in use, giving away the location. I would recommend using the on/off switches rather than the automatic audio detect though, as sometimes I couldn't get the power button to work, probably because it wasn't fully charged. Full charging of the device through USB from new takes about two hours. Static positions are clearer than moving video and the more light the better! To ensure you have the correct time and date, you may have to alter the digits in the .TXT file, which is foind in the DCIM folder under 100 Media. When plugged in the unit appears as a USB device and you can access the recorded videos through the DCIM folder. Files are saved as AVI but they are easily converted without data loss. For £15 a great buy and the perfect gadget for Christmas etc. Good luck!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Small and neat. Neat camera with good, clear video, but it ruins continuously even when set to activate on sound. This is the second one I've bought and neither of them will work as advertised. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! I was slightly discouraged from buying the product after reading the below reviews, however I was in a desperate need of a mini camera to use for my auditions, and decided to give it a chance! I am very glad I did, as it turned out to be so useful, and the quality is just amazing! Highly recommended!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Absolute waste of money, it does nothing at all when I plug it into my computer so not only did I waste money on it also bought an sd card which I don't need now....

How do you watch back?

Asked by: Tet1
• Connect the camera to the computer. The camera can be connected to a computer while in off mode, standby mode or video mode. • After USB connection, a Removable disk icon representing the Mini DV Camera will appear in the Autoplay menu. If the DV camera cannot be identified lease re-connect it. • Click “Open Folder” to open the folder • The folder DCIM contains the recorded videos. Click to open the folder and display your recordings. Click a recording to play the file
