How do I use this digital video camera?

This mini DV camera has specified buttons for various functions, making it simple to use. It includes a mode button to switch between video and audio, and a status indicator light that shows which mode the camera is currently set in.

How do I view my images and recordings?

Simply connect the watch to a PC via the USB provided, select view files/folder from the pop up once the device has been recognised. At this stage you can filter through the folders and access any saved recordings or images. You can also view footage back through the camera of which can also be used as a webcam on a computer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Better than expected ! I didn't have high expectations of this device but it turned out better than I had anticipated. The video quality is reasonable given the small format, with acceptable sharpness though the image contrast is rather low, particularly in low light. Audio quality is quite poor with low sensitivity and a fair bit of unwanted background noise, particularly in quiet situations. The maximum length of any individual recording is restricted to 30 min which could be a limitation in some circumstances. The time & date function did not work on mine, always displaying midnight on 31st. Dec. 2008 ! All in all though, given the discreet format, it's not bad for the money, though doubtless there are better devices out there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good idea but poor video quality. I purchased this to use on a model railway to give a train drivers view. The unit was a perfect size but the footage recorded was of poor quality rendering it useless. Item returned and refund provided by Maplin without bother.

Hello I have my own shop and I have noticed some money going missing am just wondering if this will give me a good enough picture to see which one of the stuff it is and also I don't have a laptop could i not plug it into my to at home ?

Unfortunately this may not be the best quality for what you are looking to do, and this would also require a laptop of computer to view

does this camera record visual and audio at the same time?

If I leave this plugged in to a USB port on a 3 pin mains plug, am I right in saying it will then record 10 mins max each time the sound activation is triggered, until memory fills? And if so, when it starts recording is it audio or video or my choice?

No, when attached to USB connector the device automatically goes into charge/comms mode.

In the leaflet it is  Motion (Detective) Video Mode, how do I use this as instructions not clear ?

The unit automatically goes into motion detect mode when plugged into a USB port (or 5V USB plug) while the standby light is on. it will record for 10 minutes and then go back to standby

This camera does not have motion detection, it does however have sound detection which you can activate using the mode buttons
