The thumbsUp! USB voice recorder can be used in a number of ways, ranging from simple note taking, dictation, and covert voice recordings – which are made significantly easier with this voice recorder as it resembles a normal USB stick.

How do I use this Voice Recorder?
The thumbsUp! 8GB USB Voice recorder looks just like a standard USB memory stick, Use the USB connection to charge your recorder or transfer files across to your PC. Easy to operate the USB recorder can be carried around and with a simple flick of a switch can record your voice as a WAV file which can then be played back when the device is reconnected to your computer.

When connected for charging, the voice recorder can be browsed using your file explorer to locate and organise files, when in this state the recorder cannot be used to record audio.

However there is no time stamp on the recording, so you won't know when or how long a recording was made. Neither is there any gain control, so recordings in noisy environments are un-listenable. MP3 not Wav as stated on the box and recording times are at best 4 hrs on full charge before the battery gives out whereas the box suggests 15! (From memory) Better off with a dictaphone

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbish Mislead by the advertising implying it would record whilst plugged into a usb port, hence enabling all day recording. Nope doesn't do it. only records whilst freestanding and even then thats useless.. Also if the recording is more than a minute, it reverts to being overwritten by a Chinese person speaking with Chinese music in the background. Useless ! being returned for full refund

It was hoped that I would be able to record all my lectures throughout the day but my voice recorder only records for just under three hours instead of the 70 suggested after fully charged. Any suggestions?

Why wont this charge fully from a usb charger such as a phone charger the better only lasted5 minutes

hello, I recently bought this product and tested it out (fully charged). . . When i came to plugging it into my computer, i only had 2hrs30minutes of recordings. As you can understand, i am clearly asking why it says 70hours playback...

The device can record at different sample rates Specifications: - 100MAH/3.7V Lithium rechargeable battery, with charging voltage 5.1V - 4 hours continuous recording time after full charging - USB V2.0/ Maximum 960KBPS transmission spead - 32KBPS - 128KBPS Recording Bit Rate - 32KHz Recording Audio Sample Rate - Frequency Range 20HZ—20KHZ at the lower rate you can record and store up to 70 hours of voice data. Obviously you can only do this in bite size pieces as the battery for the device has a life of max 4 hours.
