What would I use this microphone with?
This microphone clips directly onto a piece of clothing and will allow you to record audio directly onto an audio recording device such as a voice recorder or CD burner. Its 3.5mm connector will allow you to easily set up this microphone without any additional cables or converters, to begin recording audio within a few minutes.

What is the advantage of having a condenser microphone?
Condenser microphones are the most common type of microphones for recording audio. They are often used in recording studios as they have a greater ability to reproduce all the audio of an instrument or voice. Powered directly from a 3.5mm socket, condenser microphones usually have a louder output but can be more sensitive to loud sounds.

What position does the condenser microphone pick up sound from?
This omni-directional microphone picks up audio from the direction it is pointing at. This means you have a better recording as there is less background noise to interfere. This will save on editing time and will allow you to have a higher quality recording without using additional equipment to alter it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this microphone for a flute and attached it to the headjoint near the mouth hole. I bought it in a hurry, to replace a good quality mic that I had had for a number of years, which had let me down unexpectedly. Much to my surprise, I found this one decidedly better. It has a very good quality sound, plenty of volume and it picked up the whole of a flute range with no problems. I will now be getting another for my band clarinettist to try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great stereo microphone with clear sound on my Zoom H1. If you have a mono digital recorder like a Olympus VN-2100PC, this will work fine. The unit will work either switched to stereo or mono.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Imploded mid-recording Bought this microphone to improve the audio on my YouTube videos. Worked great on first test, but settings on my camera weren't right. Half way through my 2nd video audio died for a couple of seconds, then it developed a really bad bad it drowned out the audio. Tested the microphone with and without the battery on various devices, and the hiss was always there. Returned to store with full refund, wasn't a problem. Shame product not as good as Maplin's customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful, broke after two weeks Bought this to do a couple of interviews, initially the sound was pretty good but it broke in only two weeks, adding a loud constant buzzing to the audio.
