Is this powerline kit right for me?
The kit contains everything you need in the box. It is simple to use – as you can quickly plug in the powerline adapters, connecting one to your router and the other to your networked device and setup is complete. The kit will give you a transfer rate of up to 600Mbps between the two plugs. The single network plugs will allow you to connect your networked device, such as your laptop, desktop PC, games console, smart TV, networked hard drive or even your smart fridge directly to your router and give you internet access. The kit also has pass-through technology built-in – allowing you to plug a device into the rear of the powerline plug to be powered from the mains socket being used.

How could I use this powerline kit?
The kit is ready to go and has passthrough technology built-in – allowing you to plug a device into the rear of the powerline plug to be powered from the mains socket being used. The powerline kit is designed for one plug to connect directly to your network router while the other can be connected to a networked device. It allows that device to connect directly to the internet without using long network cables. This powerline kit works seamlessly with all other TP-Link powerline products to allow you to create the perfect networking solution for you.

How does powerline work?
Powerline technology transfers data using the electrical wiring of the household. This allows for a single powerline plug to be connected directly to a router and plugged into a mains socket. This plug will then communicate to all of the other plugs that are connected to the same electricity supply. This kit comes with a single powerline plug that connects to a router, and another which will connect to your networked device and allow it to communicate to your router over the mains. The powerline adapters will communicate with each other when connected directly to mains sockets which are on the same fuse board. Additional receivers, including those which give a wireless signal, are sold separately and can connect additional devices to your router. For best results, use any powerline receiver capable of sending up to 600Mbps.

I have a static caravan in my garden, would this work in there?

Asked by: Melcaff
Unfortunately not, these have to be used on the same ring main as the router they are connected to.

Hi there, I have TP-Link PA4010KIT AV600 Nano adapters and require additional. Would these be compatible?

Asked by: Chrisc10
TP-LINK AV200,AV500,AV600 powerline adapters adopte HomePlug AV Standard, so they are compatible with each other,AV1200 adopt HomePlug AV2,that is also backward compatible with HomePlug AV standard, which means TP-LINK AV200,AV500,AV600,AV1200 are all compatible with each other. However, the powerline rate will drop to lowest one’s rate when use different AV adapters together.

Hi I have modem in one room and want to extend range to smart TV in another room plus Xbox upstairs. Can I get additional receiver so I can have one near each device? The would all be connected with Ethernet cable, not wireless? Thanks

Asked by: MartinF
Just buy 2 kits and the pair the devices from the second kit with those of the first ... You will then have 4 devices all talking to each other.

I have a lodge in my garden, boosters seem to be ineffectual - I had a Devolo500 and that seemed to work for a couple of years but now there seem constant problems and disconnections with it. would this passthrough solve the problem?

Asked by: BeaK
A pass through Powerline device operates in exactly the same way as a non pass through, also adding a Powerline device from a different manufacture will only compound the issue. If the current Devolo used to work but now does not it may have become defective, the easiest solution would be to replace it. Either replace the single unit for one of equal specification or better still upgrade to one of the newer faster kits. If the problem persists then it is likely to be an electrical wiring/installation issue or perhaps poor power supply quality. You can read more about power supply quality here

I already have an TP-link AV600 powerline network to extend Ethernet and it works a treat. I also need to extend my wifi coverage, can I pair another tp-link wifi device to the powerline or would I need to extend Ethernet then plug a wifi router into it?

Asked by: jeffcz
Ideally you would use the Wi-Fi extender module from this series. Not only does it offer a wired connection port but when correctly configured it will also rebroadcast youur Wi-Fi network from wherever it is situated. The triple pack represent particularly good value for money as it contains 2 Wi-Fi equipped units and one wired unit, these can be easily be added to your existing system.
