What can I expect from this range extender?
The TP-Link RE-200 AC750 helps rid your home of wireless blackspots and low signal areas. This mains powered device, once paired with your router, amplifies the received signal and provides you with increased coverage for your wireless devices.

What wireless signal does this extender offer?
The wireless range extender operates on a switchable 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency to achieve a wireless connection of up to 750Mbps. This allows you to operate basic wireless tasks such as web browsing or small file transfers on the 2.4Ghz band, or increase your wireless bandwidth at the press of a button and run wireless games or media transfers on the 5GHz band. A 10/100 fast Ethernet port is included to allow the range extender to act as a wireless bridge for devices that lack wireless capabilities.

How easy is this range extender to set up?
The range extender can be positioned anywhere in your home that has a mains socket, and can be moved as needed. A link to the router can be established by using the WPS buttons on the router and range extender. Once achieved, the smart LED signal indicator shows whether you have placed the range extender in an optimal location. Devices can then be wirelessly connected to the range extender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PnP for instant improvement in Wifi signal From opening the box to 100% stronger signal took all of 5 minutes. Pressing the WP button on the router had it connected almost immediately. The lights on it were hard to see in daylight but that's my only negative comment. Otherwise, perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to set up Bought a BT 11AC WiFi extender yesterday and it failed to set up after 3 attempts with and without WPS - very frustrating and BT customer service unhelpful so returned it today and bought this machine, which we set up in minutes and it does the job well, even though the speed rating is less, but enough for our purposes. A very neat unit and didn’t even have to put our WiFi password in. Staff at Maplin very helpful and exchanged without any problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy Have just bought this today and tried to set it up. Easy eh ? Well no. The instructions were simple enough, but it simply will not connect to my Wi-Fi when I tried to extend the range. Not impressed with this at all.

I see from previous questions I can pair two of these extenders to my router. What is the maximum number of these devices I can pair? If it depends on the router, it will be the standard Virgin Media supplied one - how many can I pair to this router?

What reduction in speed will this device introduce?  Our current tp link extender is reducing speed by around 90%, i.e. From 10M to 1M. Both on 5bar signal level

Asked by: RayF
Items like this should not reduce speed at all.

Hi, I want to extend my Wi-Fi from the house to the garden and out buildings. Can you give me an idea of the range of this item?

Its the same as any other WiFi Signal - up to 100m line of sight - but will diminish when walls are introduced.

Will this product slow down the wifi speed?

Asked by: Comraich
'Up to 750Mbps dual band wireless allows fast, stable connections for heavy network applications across multiple users' Providing your internet speed does not exceed 750Mbps then no this would not slow the connection down.
