Is this powerline kit right for me?
The kit contains everything that you will need in the box. This powerline kit is simple to use, its plug and play feature means that you can quickly plug in the powerline adapters, connecting one to your router and the other to your networked device and setup is complete. The kit will give you a transfer speed of up to 1200Mbps between the two plugs. The single network plugs will allow you to connect your networked device, such as your laptop, desktop PC, games console, smart TV, networked hard drive or even your smart fridge directly to your router and give you internet access. The kit is plug and play and also has pass-through technology built-in – allowing you to plug a device into the rear of the powerline plug to be powered from the mains socket being used.

How could I use this powerline kit?
This powerline kit is designed for one plug to connect directly to your network router while the other can be connected to a networked device. It allows that device to connect directly to the internet without using long network cables. The kit works seamlessly with all other TP-Link powerline products to allow you to create the perfect networking solution for you.

How does powerline work?
Powerline technology transfers data using the electrical wiring of the household. This allows for a single powerline plug to be connected directly to a router and plugged into a mains socket. This plug will then communicate to all of the other plugs that are connected to the same electricity supply. This kit comes with a single powerline plug that connects to a router, and another plug that will connect to your networked device and allow it to communicate to your router over the mains. The powerline adapters will communicate with each other when connected directly to mains sockets that are on the same fuse board. Additional receivers, including receivers that give a wireless signal, are sold separately and can connect additional devices to your router. For best results, choose a powerline receiver capable of sending up to 1200Mbps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to join to existing network Already have six 8010P units, these two 8030P were paired and working in a couple of minutes. Speed - depends on location in house - I'm getting between just under 1000 Mbps down to just over 485 Mbps (according to the TP-Link Powerline Utility). Very pleased with both models which enable me to run, amongst other things, three Linksys Velop nodes to provide great mesh wireless coverage with wired backhaul.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab Cannot fault this product, going to get the hotspot version next. Beware that you have to plug these into the wall socket and do not use below standard HDMI leads.

I have bt infinity 1 with s hub 5. Is it worth getting this one compared with the 500 set up?

Asked by: joep
For internet access, the maximum speed will still be determined by your service provider, however internal transmissions, such as networked hard drives, may benefit from the increased bandwidth, especially with multiple simultaneous users.

Will this work with WPA8630P to extend the WiFi?

Asked by: Tim50Stroud
I already have the hardwired 8030 connecting the wifi router downstairs to upstairs and thats working very well, with the wifi connection directly from the router downstairs working well. I want to extend the wifi to the attic, and was hoping to add an 8630 to a mains socket in the attic to act as a wifi node, linked to the downstairs router via the mains...
