What can I expect from this cable router?
If you are looking for a replacement cable router or to upgrade your existing network, this offering from TP Link provides you with a stable wireless connection, or fast wired network access. This makes it a good choice for your home or small office needs.

What can I expect from this router’s wireless capabilities?
Two external antennas will distribute 300mbps 2.4GHz and 300Mbps 5GHz wireless frequencies simultaneously. Not only does this give you up to 600Mbps wireless bandwidth, it allows your 5GHz supported devices to operate on the higher frequency.

What wired connections can I expect from this router?
By connecting your WAN (RJ45) port directly to a modem or pre-existing router you are provided with access to four 10/100/1000 gigabit Ethernet ports. These allow you to take advantage of a stable, uninterrupted link to your network for all your large file transfers. Twin USB 2.0 ports provide you with a point to attach external hard disks, allowing you to have a dedicated space for network storage.

Is it possible to manage my network with this router?
Using the TP-Link web management system, administrators can control and maintain your network to ensure it is running at peak efficiency. Parental controls can be set up to restrict web usage, keeping your family safe from potentially harmful websites.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First thing I did was update this router. This improved the USB speeds, a new guest networking feature and ipv6 support. This was a reasonable buy for the price. It is full of features. It provides good range as it passes through many thick stone walls. The signal does fluctuate a bit but over provides a reliable connection. I would recommend it to people looking for a basic router that is full of uses full feature.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Exactly the same problems as the reviewer above. 2.4Ghz drops out all the time - is totally unreliable. Was also a right pain in the proverbial to set up. Took about an hour before it was all working (and then started dropping out!). Setup CD and setup webpage are not at all friendly to use. To Maplin's credit, they accepted the item back next day with no fuss at all and swapped it for the Netgear N300 which is awesome. Set up in 5 minutes and solid as a rock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just fine in my office I needed a cable router quickly and this one seemed the best of the bunch, following the Win 7 install program it was a doddle to set up. Advanced configuration and management was on a par with previous Netgear routers. I have the options for a guest network if required. The wireless signal works fine in my office environment

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great features but a poor device I purchased this on Saturday 11/1 and am returning it on Monday 13/1. I purchased it for two reasons - to increase wireless signal in the house due to a mass increase of wireless devices at Christmas and to use the USB ports to share the USB storage device that contains all the movies. It has a poor signal at 2.4 GHz, my old 5 year router had a much stronger signal - both in the same location. The USB ports only supported max of 2TB devices, the hard drive I purchased last year from Maplin was 3TB so that wouldn't work. Only one Xbox could get on line at any time with this device. I don't know what that was about, the old router allowed both Xbox 360's on line with easy. It has great features but a poor device. You be better off spending extra and getting a better device

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst device i have ever bought, TP-LINK have actually told me to return it, a known fault where 2.4 GHZ drops constantly, so i will return mine today. 5ghz works but poor range and lan connections works 2.4 ghz will just wind you up, it actually when drops wipes out all 2.4ghz ssids in my area they just all disappear!
