Product overview

• Enjoy more than 288 different experiments with this science lab electronic kit
• Wire up the components on the board differently to create new circuits and effects
• Learn the basics of electronics and the uses of components
• With multiple components and 42 parts, there’s plenty to do with this electronic kit
• Suitable for ages 8+
• Runs off four AA batteries (sold separately Order Code L43AL)

What can I do with this electronic kit?
This electronic kit has everything you could want on one board with more than 288 different experiments to choose from and lots of different components from LEDs to microphones and reed switches to speakers. Create a sound controlled colour filter, touch controlled fan, time-delay fan, light controlled cat meowing sounds and even a working AM or FM radio. Combine multiple functions and test your skills at creating more complicated kits or get into electronics with the simple beginner circuits, there’s something here for everybody no matter what level. The kit uses four AA batteries (sold separately Order Code <L43AL>)

How do you use the boards?
No soldering is required with this kit, all the components can be connected using the supplied wires fitting into the springs on the board. When you’re done with one experiment simply move the wires to the next combination on the instructions. Learn about electricity and electronics and have fun doing it with the Tronex 32288 kit. Experiment with how resistors, LDRs, LEDs, speakers, transistors, speakers and logic gates can be used.

This kit should be used with adult supervision and assistance and is suitable for children aged 8 plus.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No explanations I strongly agree with another reviewer below. I agree the English is a bit dubious at times but that isn't too important. The main problem is that it says "connect 8 to 15" and it works (mostly). But it doesn't say why. It doesn't say what each component does and how it fits into the circuit diagram you are looking at. If such explanations exist they need to be in the box, if they exist somewhere else, where can I get them from? without the explanation the projects are pretty much useless as you know that going through a transistor is necessary but no idea why.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from brainless Although this has great potential to teach concepts of electronics, it doesn't come through. The instructions are very much "connect A to B" without explaining the concept behind the circuit, so all value is lost. which way does current flow? what is a capacitor? How is it acting in this circuit? All these answers would make this a great educational toy instead of a silly gimmick. I wish someone would write a good manual to make this achieve it's potential.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this for my 10 year old son last Christmas & he has had a lot of mileage from it, both fun and educational. Please be aware the instructions are available in English on this product page under the tab 'Media'. The instructions in our box were not in English.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good BUT Nice product but documentation is very poor. Although the experiments start simple, are easy to make - no description of the components or their use is given - so little understanding of how the project works or why bits do what they do is achieved. Potentially a great product range but i am disappointed that the basics of the kit will be missed. Shame.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is probably a fair, painless way to learn some electronics, but not to learn English! It's made in Hong Kong and dubiously translated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchased as a Christmas present for my 11 year old nephew. He loves it, and proudly shows each project he completes to his parents.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My son loves it This would have received five stars, but the packaging had been opened before I took delivery of it. I picked it up in store, and it was in a handy carrier bag, so I thought nothing more of it. The next day, at home, I took it out of the bag to find the seal broken and everything inside out of place. My heart sank, add I should have checked it in the store, but everything seems to be there. My son, who is seven, loves it. I've symbols to him and he joins the dots, with the help of the numbers. He often goes off on a tangent, for example using the reed switch once I'd explained that it's activated by a magnet, instead of the toggle switch a particular experiment demands. He wants to build a radio, but is building up to it. The only thing I'd miss on this board is a photocell. I had one on a similar kit in the early 80s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic educational fun I bought this as a Christmas gift for a 6 year old who is loving all things science. This is fantastic value for money and although perhaps a little fiddly it still simple enough to use. There are hundreds of circuits to make with full instructions as well as diagrams. I would totally recommend this product.
