Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent 3D Printer This 3D printer is really good for my son took some calibrating on first day got it but now the print results are excellent. he has studied Autodesk Inventor at collage and works a breeze when save them in STL format. The cad design to the finish 3D Print is Excellent. This Printer will be good for his hobby projects and theirs no need to have a mess all over the house now with other stuff like wood. Any object can be printed all you have to do is design and you can build it up in stages or print the model of as a whole. If your thinking how will it do that is has software the adds like a scaffolding around the object so then all you do when finished printing is peel that away to have the finish object.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little printer! I bought this printer a few months ago, and what can I say, I love it! it's great. Just a quick example to show how easy it is: I design a 3d model (watertight model) in autocad. I then export the model into .stl format in autocad, open the stl file in the UP software (which is fantastic), once the stl file is opened the UP software allows you to tweak the model by rotating/scaling it and many other options, and then when you're ready you can print, its very straight forward! Sadly though I have to say as I'm giving an honest review here, to get great quality medium/big prints you need to have quite some experience using 3d printers and their softwares, I say this because I myself have not yet managed to print a big print off without it having a defect (the defect being: the bases of the prints that have finished printing end up with curved bottoms, instead of flat ones). So I guess I still have a lot to learn about what settings will work best for medium/big prints. On the other hand, small prints print off perfectly fine everytime. Finally, one thing you must note with this printer is you must keep it on a level surface when printing. otherwise at a certain angle the printer at some point may stop printing after creating a mess in the print area and the whole extruder head may pop off of its holder, which could ruin your printer aswell.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The first print was amazing!!! Then it went downhill from there... I use the printer for small items and assemblies. Out of 10 reels of ABS my failure rate was greater than 60% over about a year. Colours behave differently and have differing strengths The retaining magnet decoupled a couple of months ago and it took a while to realise. Then finally the nozzle jammed and despite following all the advice on youtube the filament chamber was so fragile that it broke while trying to remove the nozzle. I can't seem to find a replacement in the uk or on the PP3dp web site

Hello, I recently purchased this product and was wondering how I could safely improve the adhesion of the printing bed and if something like a pritstick would suffice or kapton tape.

Asked by: Ryan3d123
Something like a pritstick would be fine. some of the printers we sell come provided with a pritstick.

What the cost of raw materials when making an average item like a small aeroplane? Assume it's not solid.

Asked by: DaveyG
Sorry but this is impossible to calculate given the information provided as the overall cost will depend on how much material is used and the cost of that material. To give some kind of indication 750g of Black PLA filament is approx £35.00 which works out at approximately 4.6p per gram for any object you print, for an object that weighs 10 grams the cost of the PLA used would be 46p.
