What material can I use with this 3D printer?
The Up! Plus 2 3D Printer uses a single extruder designed for 1.75 mm filament, capable of printing using both ABS and PLA materials. There are various colour combinations and finishes you can use for your designs allowing you to print accurate 3D models.

Do I need to set up this 3D printer?
The 3D printer comes calibrated and ready to use straight out of the box, as it comes pre-assembled and complete with a reel of filament. It also includes the Up! printing software, which is designed to make 3D printing easier. Simply import your .stl CAD files to the printer to start bringing your creations to life.

How quickly can I print 3D models?
The adjustable resolution settings allow flexibility when creating your 3D models. You can print either for a high resolution model or lower the settings for a much faster finish. The unit is portable and robust, making it ideal for use at home or in the classroom without taking up space.

Where can I find 3D printing resources?
3D printing allows you to design your own creations and also use designs created by others. There are plenty of resources available online to help you when 3D printing. Free software such as AutoDesk 123D Design allows you to make your own model as simple as or as detailed as you like. (http://www.123dapp.com/design)
Thingiverse has a large collection of 3D models that you can download and print for free. (http://www.thingiverse.com)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This little gadget, although not cheap, is just fantastic. It is better than I thought and produces excellent prints. The better I get in drawing my 3D models the more I will get from this machine. If you are toying with the idea - go for it - you will not be sorry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After having read all the reviews and the video's on here,it's obvious that there are much better machines available for the price. If all you want is to 'dip your toe' in this tech, then perhaps this printer is for you (if you can afford to chuck away 1500 quid, that is ,after you find out that it isn't your cup of tea..).How-ever, if you're serious about 3D printing, look elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have the ver 1, and if the ver 2 is as good, or better, then it comes highly recommended. If you do design / engineering or are creative in any way, it will change the way you look at manufacturer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My second UP! Plus 2. It has a steel frame and linear profile rails so it doesn't care if you move it around. Least faffing about of all the 3d printers before you get a print. You need to patch in nozzle temperature control if you want to use 3rd party filament but otherwise fine and dandy, good firmware.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rubbish the print speed is fast but it's awful quality (both the printer and the print) and prone to breaking down. i've gone on to another printer which is far better.

We need to print larger dimensions. An Archimedes Differential Buoyancy Engine for Fish Tanks. Weighted Air Bellows and Air Chamber on a Chain Drive to the surface. The stand is about 300 mm. long. sections might work? but one piece construction is better

Asked by: Anonymous
Sections would have to be printed as none of our printers have a build area of that size unfortunately.

Is a computer required, are instructions supplied as extra. What exactly do you mean by ready to work out of the box. What previous experience is required.?

Asked by: John
A PC is needed. As in you do not to build the printer You would take it out the box, read the manual, install the software and print.
