Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent piece of kit, let down perhaps by a manual which bears little relation to the actual driver disk supplied. Thankfully the card required no drivers at all with my XP Professional SP/2 setup. Fitting the card was easy, and the 3.5 inch front panel was only marginally less simple. One concern is the strength of the plastic used for the front panel - don't over-tighten the screws. The cable between card and front panel is generously long, with plenty of slack even in a full tower. It worked straight from the box, and was excellent value for money. No more fly-leads from the back plane! 4 out of 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works a treat Put into Win 7 64 bit system. Driver cd is useless, excellent product, would recommend it to expand usb slots.

I have 12 yr old, low profile pc, whose 4 native ports are all fritzed, bar one on its way out! I know the mother board is fit for 2.0, because dying port is 2.0. I presume unit is fitted in drive bay? How fitted to MB? 3.3V(X)? ***5V***? both(X)?

Asked by: HarveyP
The bay connects to the motherboard via a full height PCI adaptor card, this would not fit into your low profile case.

Just to correct one of your answers given about this product... Q- Is this full speed (480mbps or whatever) or is it the lower speed (15mbps?)? - martin Answer- It will not exceed the maximum transfer speed of PCI which is around 260mbps but it will be well above 15mbps. PCI bus speed is 33MHz and 32 bits wide, this is 1056Mbps or 132MBytes/s vs USB 2.0's 480Mbps speed. Thus PCI bus speed is way in excess of the maximum USB 2.0 speed.
