What is FUZE?
FUZE is an all-in-one solution to easy computing on the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi Version 2 is held safe in this retro-style aluminium computing unit. Rather than plugging and removing devices to your Raspberry Pi board directly, FUZE has all of the connections on a single back panel. This means you can plug in your HD video display, power cable and four USB peripherals whilst keeping your work area tidy without tangled wires.

The handy built-in keyboard and mouse allows you to use your Raspberry Pi and FUZE straight out of the box.

This FUZE kit comes with a programmable robot arm which you choose to control in real time or program a sequence of commands. This is quite an impressive item to practice setting commands as a first taste in robotics and also to show to friends.

If you have a TV or PC screen that has a HDMI port or standard definition composite video port, connect your FUZE to get creating your own projects in no time at all.

On the FUZE, the GPIO pins to connect electronic components are easily accessible on the top of the unit. This is complemented with an 840 socket breadboard making this the perfect solution to re-using electronic projects and not relying on a soldering iron.

Why get FUZE with the Raspberry Pi board?
FUZE gives your Raspberry Pi added protection and extra functionality, which is not currently available on the Pi boards.

Devices connected to your Raspberry Pi using FUZE are separated from the Raspberry Pi boards due to a layer of electrical protection.

The FUZE case comes with an IO board which permits the attachment of analogue inputs. This covers a wide range of devices which measure their surrounding environment by heat, noise or light. From this you could choose to build a gadget that uses voice activation, temperature logging or detecting movement.

In addition to offering electrical protection, FUZE gives your Raspberry Pi protection in a robust aluminium structure. Any accidental knocks will now be absorbed by your FUZE and not result in a component breaking off your Raspberry Pi board. The aluminium board means any potentially harmful static electricity will not make its way to your Raspberry Pi because it would be absorbed by the metallic body.

Building electronics circuits and projects was a main feature in the design of the FUZE. With a dedicated section for electronics on the top of the FUZE, this kit also comes with many components such as LED lights, an LCD display and connecting jump-wires to learn about and create your own electronic ventures.

What can I do with Raspberry Pi?
Your Raspberry Pi is the gateway to unlocking your creativity. It is ideal for so many people with varying aspirations. You can use it to create your own media centre for HD videos and for building hardware and software.

A major inspiration for the creation of the Raspberry Pi was the motivation of young people to get to grips with programming. This is achieved with the inclusion of Scratch, a visual drag-and-drop programming language and FUZE BASIC and Python, two text-based languages which are some of the easiest to understand. Both language packages are included in this kit.

The Raspberry Pi has internet connectivity, either through a wired connection or wireless Wi-Fi USB dongle. This opens up the capabilities for what can be created to include projects on ‘the internet of things’. It also allows you to download new programs, stream content or simply browse the web.

Being only the size of a credit card, the Raspberry Pi Version 2 included in this kit is a very versatile portable computer that can be made into whatever you want it to be.

What comes with the bundle?
Included is the USB robot arm. It is supplied in kit form and therefore requires assembly before you begin programming it. The robot arm will require four <> (not included).

This kit contains the FUZE type II workstation which is the main unit you will connect to your display, the robot arm and any electronic devices. It also includes a number of electronic components and an 840-socket breadboard.

FUZE has an integrated keyboard and also comes with a mouse and mat.

This kit comes with an 8GB microSD card containing the Operating System that resembles a PC desktop which includes FUZE BASIC. It is accompanied by a programming reference guide and some project cards with idea suggestions and examples to get creating.
