The Up! Box 3D printer uses a single extruder designed for 1.75 mm filament, capable of printing with ABS and PLA plastics. ABS provides a tougher and stronger finish but requires a higher temperature, around 230 Celsius, which makes it great for heat resistant parts. PLA is slightly flexible and requires a much lower temperature, around 210 Celsius, it is non-toxic; it is also less prone to warping when printing. There are a variety of filament materials, finishes and colour combinations available allowing you to create your 3D models exactly how you want them.
How easy is this 3D printer to set up and use?
The printer comes pre-assembled with a reel of filament making it ready to use straight out of the box. The Up! Box 3D printer also includes the Up! software which is designed to make 3D printing simple and straightforward. Simply import your .stl CAD files to the printer to start bringing your creations to life.
The UP! Box 3D Printer is also one of the easiest to use and maintain thanks to its full auto calibration; which verifies and rectifies the distance of the nozzle to the bed, as well as the ability to automatically level the platform.
Thanks to the enclosed chamber of the print environment, fluctuating room temperatures or gusts of winds through a window will no longer effect the stability of a print area, so now you can print with complete peace of mind.
Can this 3D printer be expanded?
Variable resolution settings allow flexibility when creating your 3D models. Choose between printing in high quality and printing at higher speeds to suit your 3D CAD creations.
Where can I find 3D printing resources?
3D printing allows you to design your own creations or use designs created by others. There are plenty of resources available to help you make the most of this tech. Free software such AutoDesk 123D Design allows you to make your own model as simple or as detailed as you like. (http://www.123dapp.com/design)
Thingiverse also has a large collection of 3D models that you can download and print for free. (http://www.thingiverse.com)
