Velleman 7W Mono Audio Amplifier Prebuilt Kit
• Amplify a weak input signal on an audio device
• The circuit is protected against overheating and short circuits
• Prebuit – the soldering is done for you
• Requires a 8-18V DC power supply (not included)What can do with this kit?
Get great sound out of your mono audio devices with this 7W audio amplifier (manufacturer’s code VM114). Send your audio to an active speaker, subwoofer or other devices. The circuit is capable of producing 7W peak output or 3.5W RMS output, and works on a single channel input making it ideal for mono devices like microphones. This kit is capable of boosting signals using 20Hz-20kHz frequencies, the normal human hearing range. With a compact 35mm x 55mm circuit, you can use this kit almost anywhere. Also available in a 19 piece solder kit to assemble (order code K4001).
What can I learn from this mono pre-amp kit?
This kit is made up of lots of different components including resistors, capacitors, and an integrated circuit (IC) chip, and shows you how they are connected in a circuit. The circuit is designed to take a small signal and amplify it without changing the pattern. This kit is built around the TDA2003 IC chip. The IC chip creates heat, so the kit includes a heatsink to dissipate this energy. This circuit has protections against short circuits and overheating. You may require tools to connect your source signal and output device.
What more can I do with this kit?
A great kit for the audio enthusiast. You may want to create an enclosure (not included) for the kit to protect the electronics, or add convenient sockets/plugs for your inputs and output so you can plug in quickly and easily. You could even add a potentiometer (not included) and create a volume control. This kit requires a DC 8-18V power supply (not included) and a 15V power supply is recommended.
