Will this filament work with my 3D printer?

This 3D printer filament is compatible with the Velleman K8200 3D Printer (Order Code <N82QG>). The filament is 3mm PLA which is a biodegradable plastic with a shiny surface. The spool is 200mm in diameter, 70mm high and has a 54mm diameter spool hole to fit onto your 3D printer. This filament can be used with a variety of 3D printers that take 3mm PLA (check your printer for compatibility).

Why choose this filament?

1kg of solid red filament (PLA3R1) for medium to large scale projects so you don’t risk running out halfway through.

PLA has a lower melting point, is bio-degradable, made from renewable sources, and as it is derived from sugar gives off a semi-sweet smell. PLA gives you better acute angles, does not require a heated bed and is available in a wide range of colours as well as glossy, metallic or glow in the dark options. PLA stick better to a wide range of surfaces including glass, metal and acrylic.

If you’re looking to use or store your 3D printed items in an area with a temperature of up to 105 Celsius, the alternative, ABS has a higher melting point so your print has a vastly reduced chance of warping and has more flexibility when solid.

Check your printer for its filament compatibilities

How should I store my filament when not in use?

All filaments work better when they are stored in a dry and dust free environment as moisture can create problems with printing and reduce the lifespan of the filament. To protect you filament it is best to store it in a sealed container or bag with an added sachet of silica gel to ensure when you come to use, or reuse it, you’ll have the best quality print every time.
