What can I do with this sound meter?
Know when you’re exceeding a sound level with this pocket sound meter (manufacturer’s code MK115). Use the potentiometer and a test sound to set and adjust the sound level, then anytime the ambient noise level gets close to your chosen level the five LEDs will light up. With 39 parts, this is a great kit for those looking to improve their soldering skills.

What can I learn from this sound meter kit?
Practise soldering and learn about electronics and circuits with this electronic sound meter kit. It uses resistors, capacitors, a transistor, potentiometer and a microphone, and will help you learn how to connect a circuit. This circuit contains many different components, and gives a great opportunity to see them all in action. The microphone changes output depending on the sound level, and you can use the potentiometer or variable resistor to change the sensitivity that activates the LEDs. This kit requires a soldering iron and solder and may require wire cutters.

How easy is this kit to solder?
Simple to solder, this kit is ideal for beginners learning about electronics or for those looking to improve their soldering skills. Putting the kit together is just the start of your adventure. The kit comes with a clip to attach the board to your pocket or belt you could create an enclosure (not included) for the kit to protect the electronics as long as the sensor, input and outputs are not blocked. This kit requires a single CR2032 coin cell battery (not included) and comes with a battery holder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MK 115 SOUND LEVEL METER Excellent product. The conponets are very close together and hard to solder. This kit is not recommended for beginners. When there is a sound detected all of the LEDs lights up not a meter. The battery is hard to get out recommend using a screwdriver to get out
