Rated 1 out of 5 by from Almost Useless Had this tool a week, tried repeatedly to use it to strip small diameter single core wire (for breadboard work). It generally just rips the wire apart at the point where it grips it. There is an adjustment screw on the rear which seems to have no effect whichever way it is rotated. There is a wire cutter attachment which works just fine - but then again so would a simple pair of scissors. Useless for it's primary role.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wire strippers Very poor quality item. Would give 0 stars if I could. Same as the other reviews, doesn't strip wires at all regardless of the screw position in the back. Bought this in store while buying a soldering iron thinking one of these would be a good idea instead of the regular strippers. Bad call and learnt my lesson to always read reviews first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Please do not buy this... it doesn't strip wires. It just cuts them. I had the same problem with the strippers in the Maplin toolkit, so I thought these would be better, but nope. Now I have two pairs of wire strippers that do nothing. Good job Maplin!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I totally agree with the first reviewer. Worked once or twice, now just chomps the end off the wire. Ok to cut, useless for stripping, not cheap either, paid a little more for a better product, disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No luck The item was faulty. I returned it to your Shrewsbury branch and obtained a refund. This was satisfactory.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good for single core I agree with the other reviews. One of the reasons I got this was to strip single core wire to make jumpers for breadboarding projects and it simply does not work.
