Rated 4 out of 5 by from I wanted a way of being able to read/write to SD cards or a USB drive from my Blackberry Playbook and this little device does the trick. Easy to set up, you can interface to the the Wi_Reader from a browser or use an app provided by the manufacturer (Apple and Android) or a myriad of other file manager clients that support the Samba protocol. I was going to invest in some eye-fi wireless SD cards for my digital cameras but that only solved half the challenge at a pretty hefty price tag, so relieved to find this and be able to use my existing SD cards and access USB disk storage. Brilliant little device that also acts as a router/access point so great to take on the road and be able to create a local wireless network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can confirm that the Apotop Wireless Card Reader device works well with my Google Nexus 7 in combination with Total Commander app and associated LAN plugin. Be warned that whilst you carry out the initial set up of the Apotop device, the wireless connection is unencrypted, so ideally do the setup in a location where your mobile device can't pick up any wireless device signals other than from the Apotop. If your mobile device is able to pick up additional signals, just ensure that you don't hang around getting to and completing the final part of the setup wizard (Wireless Security Setup).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After reading some of the not so great reviews of this product on this site, I ordered one with some trepidation. I have to say for me at least, It's been superb, and has allowed me to get my sizable collection of photos and video off of my iPad 3 & iPhone 4. I would say that the iTunes app, although doing it's job without a hitch, is not the most user friendly or intuitive, other than that I would highly recommend this product. How they manage to get several hours of battery life out of something so small is beyond me?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A useful bit of kit. Although not clear from the instructions, in addition to being able to view them on memory plugged into this product, I have found that it is also possible to download individual photos, or an entire folder of photos, from an SDHC card or USB memory stick to an iPad. The method I used was as follows: - 1 Open "Photos" application on the iPad. 2 Open the "Wi-Reader" App, and navigate to "Folder" view. 3 To download an entire folder of photos, drill down to the list of folders. To download an individual photo, drill down to the list of photos within the correct folder. 4 Press "Edit". 5 To download a folder of photos, highlight that folder. To download a single photo, highlight that photo. 6 Click the "Download" icon. 7 Click on "Save to Library". 8 "Status screen then shows photo or photos being downloaded to iPad. 9 Go back to the iPad "Photos" application, and you should find the photo or photos in the "Camera Roll" folder on the iPad. I have not yet worked out if it is possible to download other types of file from SDHC or USB memory sticks to the iPad, or upload files from the iPad to SDHC or USB memory. I hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best bit of kit i have purchased for the iPad,the plug in readers are ok if you want to get photos, but withe this you can get into all the files on pendrives/memory sticks and SD cards, setup was a breeze once i had downloaded the app Wi-reader,now i will have to see if it will work on the android system for my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this to use with an iPad which I occasionally use to DJ with, I have larger, more professional kit before you ask, but it is so easy to carry around and set up! Anyway, after a bit of a problem inasmuch as the Wi reader seemed to always export the song file to the playing deck of D Jay, and would kill the output straight away, by simply making sure the button that says "EDIT" is pressed, and it displays "done" it behaves the way it should! An ideal way to not fill up your iPad with files! Recommended (so far!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music transfer I wasn't sure about this product as there was no information here on Maplins or the manufacturers website. I wanted to transfer some MP3 music files from an SD card to my iPhone to play as you would using the iPod app. To some extent this product worked, I transferred the files and was able to store them locally in the Wi-Reader app on the phone. However, the files play through Quicktime, so not quite the iPod app functionality. Well I'm really happy anyway, because it was Ј30 for this gadget and no need to buy a would - be redundant laptop that is much more expensive!
