What features does this Yale Home Camera have?
The Yale Home Camera is a high definition 720p IP camera that comes with high-resolution night vision of up to eight metres, helping you keep an eye on your home around the clock. With the 110-degree horizontal wide viewing angle, you'll be able to pick up footage of nearly a whole room. The built-in speaker and microphone provides two-way audio, which means you can speak into your home via the camera, warning intruders or reassuring pets by using the smartphone or table when you are away from the house.

The built-in motion detector can be armed by your smartphone app when leaving your home, so if any motion is detected the camera will start recording and send you a smart notification to warn you. Store up to 32GB worth of video footage on a microSD card, which can be slotted into the IP camera. As the camera is compatible with Dropbox, you can save and share footage with others. This is helpful if your ever have to pass footage onto the police.

Can I view the footage remotely?
Yale Home Camera gives you the ability to view footage from anywhere in the world, 24/7, with the smartphone and tablet app. Provided your smartphone or tablet and your IP camera are connected to Wi-Fi, remote viewing is available at all times. If the built-in motion detector picks up movement when you are away from the house, notifications will be sent to your smart device so you can check up on your home.

How easy is the camera to set up?
The Yale Home Camera has been designed with the user in mind. The system is a DIY installation and the user menu interface allows for a quick and easy set up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good at first, bad after a few weeks. Took a few hours to get connected, EZLink is extremely temperamental, ever time the percentage will get 1 number higher in the progress bar before cutting out. Once operational it worked like a dream, until a few days ago it cut out and wouldn't respond, Cameras inferred is still operational so the camera is still working, however it won't connect online. Yales instructions are useless, simply a sheet online saying use the app, no troubleshooting anywhere to be found and now EZlink while trying to re set up the cameras connection keeps cutting out at 28% regardless of if the camera is connected or not. Point of this unit is to operational 24/7, as it no longer functions it'll be returned. Complete waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OK BUT I CANT GET IT WORKING PROPERLY! Its supposed to be a simple set up, but I still can`t get it working properly, that`s after ringing Yale support over and over again (who have twice not rang me back like they promised to, this is just poor customer service, simple as that...) and receiving an email on how to set up the email notifications, but its getting even more complicated!!!!!! Yale really need to make the set up a lot easier. Its okay if you want to view via the camera, but don`t expect anything else without a battle or a degree in computing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ability to use Dropbox with it and the had quality is good as is night vision. A good cheap way of adding a camera option to my house, that will alert me to any movement via email, and record video or photo on micro sd card, and send a copy to Dropbox once you have set up and synced account.

Can this be connected to a smart home alarm without a DVR kit?

Asked by: nick
This can be used without a DVR kit, however it would not link in with the alarm system, rather work along side it, as it uses its own Home View application.

when will the application become available for my great Windows 'phone?

Asked by: Chipperoldie
I cannot say for definite but it's possible that it will never get an app developed for windows phones. Unfortunately Windows phones account for less than 1% of total market share. The product manufacturer provides an app for the most popular devices iOS and Android. You may find 3rd party non endorsed apps that may work using the onvif option but this is unlikely.

Does the remote access require a static IP address? I have read that service providers can change the IP address without notice.

No a static IP is not needed but is better to have.
