What can I use this Wi-Fi router for?
Working with a range of 3G and 4G service provider USB modems you can use this router to share the mobile broadband connection it provides with Wi-Fi enabled devices. As long as you can get a 3G/4G connection you will get an internet connection for your computers, mobile phones, gaming devices and more. Up to 150Mbps transfer speeds means you can locally share files quickly.

Compatibility with a 4G connection means you can expect up to 150Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds. This provides you with minimal buffering while streaming and the ability to download within seconds. To ensure users get the connection they expect while they are streaming you can configure the IP based QoS via the web interface. Using this you can allocate a device a certain amount of bandwidth for their online activities.

How secure is my Wi-Fi connection?
By default your connection isn’t secured by authentication and encryption services, however you can easily change this by going into the web based settings page, to setup WEP/WPA/WPA2 services. You can also activate wireless protection with the one click WPS button, to secure your wireless network quickly and without you needing to enter in your password.

Can I use this for more than sharing a 3G/4G connection?
The Ethernet port can be used to plug in a WAN or LAN internet connection, therefore you can connect this with your ADSL or cable modem to have it share your internet connection. Alternatively, you can connect it to an ADSL, cable or hotel’s LAN cable, to share its connection to multiple devices. Support for tethering lets you plug in your mobile phone into the USB port to share the mobile internet connection it has. You can also set up the router to use as a backup connection for your ADSL or cable modem, so you can get continuous internet connection when yours suddenly goes down.

How portable is this router?
Powered by its 1700mAh rechargeable battery you can get up to seven hours of portable Wi-Fi from this router. It can be charged using the included mains charger or by an in car charger as well. Measuring in at just 76mm x 105mm x 21.8mm (W x D x H), the router is compact enough for you to take on your travels. So you can get an internet connection while you are on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have actually had one of these since December and am very happy with it. I first got this as I'm sick of having to balance next to windows at hotels to use mobile broadband! With this, you connect the 3g modem, switch on the router and connect to to the Wireless-N wi-fi the router creates, online in minutes! GREAT On from that and we now use this when we're travelling as the wife uses the laptop and the kids connect their PSP to the wireless as we drive! The connection is very stable and the kids are very quiet! I even use this on the train to connect my iPhone and laptop, how did I do without it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good & unable to fault it - worked straight away out of the box. A lot better than the Mifi Huawei E586 as it is not locked down and local network file transfer etc. is possible with the Zoom it is not with the E586 3G signal appears to be enhanced using a sim dongle if necessary on a usb extension lead. WiFi coverage is a lot better too. However both have their individual benefits but the Zoom will do more and is a lot better doing it ! Exceptionally pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply plugged in my Vodafone dongle and off it went. Technology that works out of the box first time is very rare in my experience, so 5 stars for being such a well thought out piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great while it lasted Have had this router for over 2.5 years, and shared a 3G USB dongle Wifi connection on a boat, with 5 devices sometimes running simulatenously - laptops, tablets and phones. Have now upgraded to a new 4G dongle and find that it is not compatible and there is no likelihood of firmware updates. So check compatibility - if your device is supported, it is a great piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still zooming I have used this router for almost 5 years now & never been let down. I have noticed that recent dongles are not working properly with it so luckily I have kept an older dongle to use with a new simcard. Works fine now with the wife's new simcard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this router and a 3 dongle on the strength of the answer to a question about their compatibility. After wasting many hours I am told by Three that they are not compatible! Three supply dynamic DNS IP addresses, where as this router seems to require a fixed DNS address

I am pleased to advise the product you mentioned will do exactly what you require, you would just need a 3g or 4g dongle.

These work with 4G out of the box with all dongles that the service providers give out. It may not work the the 3rd party ones sold separately.

I have a samsung galaxy tab s which is wifi only. If I bought the above, (3G/4G Wireless N Travel Router,Code: N25HQ) could I connect it to the tablet and use it to send and receive emails in a very rural part of France? You can use a mobile phone there, but it is well away from any towns etc.
Asked by: C Walker
To use this you have to connect it to a USB mobile internet dongle, You will be able to connect wifi items such as ipads mobiles and tables to it, But it will only work if it can get a good mobile signal for its data connection.
