Individually, you can use either right or left earbuds by themselves whenever you desire.

Keep on listening for hours with plenty of time to spare - a total of 28-hour long battery life (with charging battery in the case). You get 8 hours battery life on a single charge, then recharge another 2.5 times with the carrying case. Quick 10-minute charge provides 1-hour playback.
