You'll have up to a total of three years' protection, that’s two years more than your manufacturer’s guarantee. Want to have a think about it first?

If you’ve purchase your product from us we give you 45 days to take our Protect, as long as the product hasn’t been damaged in the meantime. Simply return to any store with your original receipt and a team member will be able to help

How to request a replacement

Requesting a replacement couldn’t be simpler. Just pop into any of our stores with your broken item, your receipt for Protect and the receipt for the product itself.

You’ll pay nothing if we approve the replacement, and if it’s not currently in stock, we may give you vouchers for the original purchase price instead.

Cancellation and termination rights

You can cancel Protect within 45 days of purchase and receive a full refund, provided you have not used any services under the plan. Simply return to a store with this leaflet and your receipt.

To cancel your plan after the first 45 days, please write to Domestic & General Services Limited, Leicester House, 17 Leicester Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire, CV12 8JP or via the Contact us section on www.domesticandgeneral.com (Maplin are not responsible for the content of external websites). You may need to send in your documentation and receipt.

If we provide you with a replacement or vouchers, your plan will end Plans may be available from other providers. You may also be covered under your household contents insurance or other policies that you may hold. You may, however, find that an excess is payable and a claim may affect the cost of the subsequent insurance premiums.

Your Statutory Rights will not be affected when you buy a plan. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to 6 years (may be different in Scotland) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you.

Meeting the obligations under the plan

The obligations under your Domestic & General plan are backed by assets held within a trust fund for your protection. Calls to 0333 numbers are charged at the same rate as dialling a local or nation number. If your fixed line or mobile service has inclusive minutes to local or national (01/02) numbers, then calls to our 0333 numbers are counted as part of this inclusive call volume.
