What is a Security Camera?

Security cameras are user-friendly surveillance devices designed to help you monitor your home or property remotely, offering protection, peace of mind, and real-time alerts. Whether you’re looking for an indoor security camera to check on pets or an outdoor weatherproof model to guard your front porch, there’s a solution for every need.

These smart cameras often feature HD video, two-way audio, motion-activated alerts, cloud or local storage, and integration with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit.

FAQ

Are AdvancedX cameras compatible with other Swann recorders?

No. AdvancedX recorders work only with AdvancedX cameras and are not compatible with any other Swann series. You can check the Recorders and Cameras Compatibility Chart on Swann's website to confirm compatibility.

Is there a monthly fee for recording?

No. There are no ongoing fees — local recording is free and everything needed to install is included in the pack.

Do I need Wi-Fi for the system to work?

No. AdvancedX systems use wired PoE (Power over Ethernet), which means cameras draw power directly from the NVR via an ethernet cable, delivering uninterrupted 24/7 monitoring without relying on Wi-Fi.

Can I view footage remotely?

Yes. You can stream live video from multiple cameras anywhere in the world via the Swann Security app, or view locally on a TV via the included HDMI cable.
