FAQ

What is a monitor mount or stand?

A monitor mount is a device that holds your computer screen in place, either attached to a desk, wall, or other surface. It allows you to adjust the monitor's height, tilt, and rotation for optimal viewing angles.

What is the difference between a clamp mount and a freestanding mount?

A clamp mount attaches directly to the edge of a desk, saving space and providing a clean, minimal look. A freestanding mount sits on top of the desk without needing any attachment, offering flexibility but occupying more surface area.

What's the difference between a monitor stand and a monitor arm?

A monitor stand (sometimes called a monitor riser) is a platform that sits on your desk and raises your screen to a fixed height. A monitor arm — also known as a monitor mount — attaches to your desk and uses an articulating arm to let you adjust your screen's height, depth, tilt, and swivel freely throughout the day. Monitor arms are generally the more versatile option: they free up the desk surface beneath the screen, allow precise ergonomic positioning, and can be repositioned easily. All of our monitor mounts are arm-style — available in desk-clamp and freestanding base versions to suit different desk setups.

What are dual-arm monitor mounts?

Dual-arm monitor mounts are designed to support two monitors on separate arms, allowing for independent adjustments of each screen. They are perfect for multi-tasking or gaming setups.

Can I use a monitor mount with any type of monitor?

Most modern monitors can be used with mounts, but it's important to check the VESA compatibility (the mounting pattern on the back of the monitor) to ensure it fits the mount.

Do I need to drill my desk to fit a monitor arm?

No. All of our monitor arms attach to your desk without any drilling. Desk-clamp models use a C-clamp that tightens onto the edge of your desk — typically compatible with desk surfaces up to 80mm thick — and can be installed and removed in minutes. If you'd prefer not to use a desk clamp at all, our freestanding monitor mount models use a weighted base that sits directly on the desk surface with no attachment required. Check the individual product page for the specific installation method and desk thickness compatibility.
