HDMI is a type of interface for transmitting HD audio & video signals between devices such as computers, Blu-ray players, & TVs. DisplayPort has a similar function, and version 1.4 has greater bandwidth than HDMI. A DisplayPort to HDMI cable allows you to convert your DisplayPort output to an HDMI display.
