What can I connect to this TV?
By using the supplied 3.5mm to phono (RCA) AV cable you will be able to connect a variety of devices to this screen. Whether it’s a DVD player, satellite receiver or you simply want to use this screen as an output, this TV has the connection to let you do so. The inclusion of a standard 3.5mm audio out socket for headphones allows you to watch at a volume level that suits you or will allow you to use a larger sound system. Another feature is the USB port, which allows you to use the TV as a music player or digital photo frame, just place your media onto the TV via a USB stick.

How portable is this TV?
Once removed from the base, this television can be moved around the home and thanks to two fold out legs can be placed on any flat surface. Its lightweight design means it can be carried in a rucksack for a long journey. With the inclusion of a car power adapter, this TV will be a welcome accompaniment to any road trip.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A fair price when sold at the offer/sale price but only if the following issues are addressed. Minor cosmetic issues such as the date on the INFO screen being stuck in American format (mm/dd/yyyy) will hopefully be fixed with a firmware update. For the UK market, having "Sort: By LCN" and "LCN On" as defaults in the setup would make it use the more intuitive Freeview Channel numbers as default for non-tech savvy customers. The timeout delay after entering a channel number is 5 seconds before the change occurs - far too long. The TV doesn't support MHEG5 which is used for the DVB "Red Button" text services, for placeholder graphics on non-broadcasting channels and for identification on the Radio Station channels. Irritating in a modern TV. Compared to modern LCD TVs, the picture is grainy/dithered and has noticeable gradients on light colours (I suspect it is only a 6-bit colour-depth panel?). A bigger issue is that after a channel search, the TV ignores and doesn't store channels that are not currently transmitting (i.e. those that just have an MHEG5 placeholder during the day, e.g. BBC Three). A manual scan at night causes the TV to save the channels that are now broadcasting (e.g. BBC Three) but to delete the channels that have stopped transmitting (e.g. CBeebies). This is a show-stopper and makes the TV impracticable at best, unusable at worst.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this on the basis of a previous reviewer who got good reception all over the country with the aerial provided. He has obviously not been to Scotland (Edinburgh & west coast), I could not get a signal on more than three channels and no radio, even with an amplified aerial. Store staff were excellent and organised refund with no problem. It seemed a fairly good bit of kit, apart from the stand, which does not fit back into the box for transit unless it is disassembled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I decided, against advice, to buy this TV. I am glad I did. Quick and easy to set up and to use. It has a very clear picture and adequate sound quality, obviously not up to Home HiFi standards. So far I have had no issues with connectivity, the ariels/antennaes provided being sufficient so far. Neat, light, slim, variable mounting types and positions, this is such a lovely TV

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really pleased with this excellent tele. Have used it in caravan all over the country and never failed to get a good reception, even with the little 'rubber duck' supplied, when others with very expensive hi tech kit have failed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap and nasty remote control. This is the third small TV I have purchased from Maplin the first two models came with good remote controls , but this one came with a rubbish controller. Two of the contact pads soon wore out and are now useless. If this situation continues I will not be purchasing any more TV's from Maplin. The first one purchased develloped a fault in the power supply circuits and had to be dumped. The TV itself I find very annoying, if it is tuned to a channel which subsequently goes off air, when it is switched on again with the channel still off air, the channel selections are all jumbled up. So I have to repeat the retuning procedure again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor TV Bought to replace an earlier Nikkai TV but picture and sound poor. Sound tinny and dark scenes too dark despite adjusting brightness, contrast and colour. Buttons on remote very stiff and difficult to operate. Also faulty - 2 rows of dead pixels on screen.
